The Robin Lopez trade that opened up the salary space to sign AK-47 has fallen apart due to league rules regarding trading Brad Miller.

So they're going to have to rework it, NOH is going to have to give up more for Lopez as it stands. Minny might have to clear Wes Johnson's salary some other way.

I don't care what colors they are. If having the best basketball players on the C's or other teams I like mean they are white, I'm all for it. Personally I think with the influx of talent from Asian and Europe, we will see a more of a balance in terms of nationalities and ethnic groups in the NBA. This will increase popularity of the league worldwide.

C:  Nikola Pekovic, Greg Stiemsma
PF: Kevin Love, Derrick Williams
SF: Andrei Kirilenko, Chase Budinger
SG: Brandon Roy, Alexey Shved
PG: Ricky Rubio, Luke Ridnour, JJ Barea

That is a pretty solid team.

I am thinking 45-50 wins. Maybe more if those shooting guards pan out.
That's a very very positive view, IMHO.

Williams still has a ton to prove.
Last I checked AK47 was waltzing his way through the NBA doing very little.
Rubio still has to heel up and learn to shoot.
Roy retired due to no cartilage in his knees.

I'm thinking 30-35 wins. Maybe 38. Maybe.

Well, they certainly won't be the most athletic team in the league, but they could be an effective team though.  Really, a heck of a lot depends on Rubio's health.  Before he went down with the ACL injury, they were basically a .500 squad last year.  He's that important to them.  One of those guys that impacts a team's success way more than his stats would indicate that he would.  It's tough coming back from a torn ACL.  Usually it takes into the second year to return to form, though they can often times return to action in less than a year.  I suspect Rubio will struggle this year, and therefore the Wolves will likely struggle.  I like the Wolves, though, mainly because I like Rubio.

That team could break the NBA record for fewest dunks in a season.

The Wolves were playing at around .500 last year before getting hit by injuries. They looked good doing it and I thought the Wolves were capable of sustaining that W-L record over a full season (if not for the injuries).

A year later, several young players on the roster who should show some improvement improve heading into the next year. Ricky Rubio  Derrick Williams especially but also Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic. Pekovic is older and has experience in Europe but he still fairly new to the NBA (110 games, 2000 mins) and can show improvement as he continues to get used to the NBA game.

They also solidified their SF position with Kirilenko (a below average but solid starter at SF) and Budinger (above average backup SF) who are both upgrades over the guys they had last year (Michael Beasley, Wesley Johnson, Martell Webster).

I think that youth maturing and the upgrades at SF should firmly push them into that 45 win category.

The SG position is a great unknown with Brandon Roy and Alexey Shved. If they can get anything useful out of them, I think Minny could push on to the high 40s to 50 win team (47-50 wins).

Wow, I generally don't think GMs think about color when picking guys but what are the odds of a team with 8 of their top 10 players are white?  Isn't the league 75% black?  There is nothing wrong with it I guess as most of them are actually decent players, I just think people will think Kahn only wants white guys.  This has to be the whitest team in like 20 years at least.

More white people live in freezing cold places - it shouldn't be surprising that they are more willing to work in Minnesota.  Heck, the Russians probably think it's too temperate.

$10 million a year for Kirilenko? Kirilenko hasn't had a season worth such money since 05-06.

And people think we overpaid for Green? Meh.
