looking back at that draft and seeing where all those players are at now in their careers, there's no doubt in my mind that rondo was the best player in that draft, despite being drafted 21st, he should have been top 5 easily

no he wouldnt have been top 5 the reason why he became so good was because of the big 3 dont get me wrong now he is probably the best pg in the game but he wouldnt have become this good if it wasnt for the big 3

Holy crap, you're right. I just looked over the list, I had no idea how much of a steal that Rondo was at #21. I mean, I knew he was a steal, but looking at the careers of the other guys, he's in the argument for the very best.

this has honestly been obvious for a couple years.

i hope jared sullinger at 21 this year turns out to be the same steal, even in a loaded draft. danny got away with highway robbery again/

i hear what your saying i know he learned a lot from being around all those vets, but what i'm talking about is his talent the raw talent that he has, the ability to rebound the ball at 6'1", his defense, the ability to control a game without scoring a single basket and to score at will when he wants even against bigger defenders, that's top 5 talent to me especially in a weak draft such as that one.

Suns fans have been dreading for the day Nash moves out of Phoenix. Don't know what they were thinking, but, thanks much!

If you could do that draft again, Rondo goes #2.

1.) LaMarcus Aldridge
2.) Rajon Rondo
3.) Andrea Bargnani
4.) Brandon Roy (because of those knees)
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

No Rudy Gay?  ???

Top 3
1. Aldridge
2. Rondo
3. Gay

Rondo's probably the best of the 3, but Aldridge being a PF puts him ahead.

Roy, IDK?  If his knees had held up, I'd put him at the top.  For a short time he was absolutely the best player from that draft.

Roy wouldn't go in the Top 20 because of his knees, in retrospect.  He retired before the age of 30.

Honestly, you could probably do this with every draft.  It isn't a perfect science.
