He deserved the camp invite, no question.  Not sure how the partial guarantee works out...my guess is he gets 200K or so.  Something for his troubles of skipping out on the Euro circuit, which is probably where he will wind up.

I hope he makes it. Well, we'll see during training camp how he's looking.

A few things I liked about him:

1. Plays tough.
2. Seemed fearless.
3. Perimeter shot.
4. Good in transition.
5. Gets the ball and runs.
6. Draws fouls.
7. Rebounds.
8. Can cover 3 positions if it gets to that.

This guy really wants it man.   Playing tough all summer league and taking a partially guaranteed contract and leaving money on the table in europe.  I'm rooting for him no matter what happens.

Anybody want to tweet Larry Coon and ask him how partially-guaranteed rookie deal count against the apron?

From his FAQ regarding calculating team salary as it relates to the apron:

Quote
For rookies and players with one year of experience whose salary is less than the two-year minimum salary, the two-year minimum salary is used in place of their actual salary.

http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q14

If this signing / guarantee is going to count as a full $854k against our salary calculation, I'm not in love with it, because it potentially limits our flexibility.

leaving money on the table in europe.

On other teams too? I'm pretty sure the Bulls would give him more security.

Good better option than some of the scrubs names I've seen tossed around hopefully he earns minutes and his young legs can help pace us through the year

I answered my own question.  Training camp contracts don't count against team salary until the first day of the regular season.

EDIT:  Never mind.  If it's a guaranteed contract, it counts against team salary.  http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q68

So, back to the original question:  how much does Christmas' contract count against the apron, and does the partial guarantee affect that?

I really hope it works well for him, but I can't envision him getting any minutes even if he makes the cut. We have a logjam at his position.

When he does something against real NBA teams then talk... he hasn't done anything yet.

I like Xmas but ABeast is The Man!!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

The only question I have is how long will it take before 'Christmas' headline puns run their course?   I am tired of it already (read: "Christmas in September" on CBlog homepage).  I call for the moratorium to begin immediately -- or by December 25th the latest.

If he does make the roster, and has a clutch game at some point, I guarantee the headlines will read "Merry Christmas" etc. etc.

You would be certifiable to think that.  While Bradley has not accomplished much, Christmas has accomplished zero in the NBA.  You do realize how bad the competition in the Summer League is, right?  Don't be fooled.
