Not sure why we signed him--is it just for training camp? How many players can we have on the roster for camp? Is it 15? more?

You can have more than 15 players in camp (I think the number was 21 but im just guessing here ;D ).
He is just another body. I think that he will get cut before we head overseas.

It's just a training camp invite.  We extended one to Christmas, too, but he wants a fully guaranteed deal.

It is just for training camp, although I think the Celtics will sign their 15th man from one of the invites.

He won't make it long... My concern is for the backup PG position.  Wonder if Avery will have to slide over there for some stretches?

Kinda an aside, but I'll be really curious to see what becomes of Adam Morrison.  Something about the guy just still doesn't sit well with me.  It's the fact he still seems lost on defense, last little to no lateral quickness, and runs with those little steps that seem to slow him down while getting back on defense.

But getting back to Jamar... He's gonna have to really, really show up come training camp.

He played on our D-League team last year, played well, and with the trade of Etwaun Moore we are actually thin at the PG position.

He is not going to make the team.

How many players can we have on the roster for camp?
As many as your little heart desires, if I'm not mistaken.

I believe off-season rosters are limited to 20.

competition.  The chances of both he and Christmas making the team are very slim.  But there is probably room for one of them.  The other one will likely be a strong candidate to be the C's choice to assign to their D-league team.

To a non-guaranteed contract?  Are you serious?  Every team does that.  You bring 18 or so to camp.

The way I see it, between Dooling, Christmas, Joseph... I think there will be at most 2 spots for them.

The other spot will be left open, or for another big if they find one.

Personally I'd go with Christmas and Joseph. Even though I liked him in the playoffs, and love what he does in the locker room, I just don't like what Dooling brings on the court.

If we're using 2 spots between them, there's little reason to get both Christmas and Dooling. Dooling is not really a PG, and Christmas can play some PG if it gets to that.

Is Christmas a point guard? I don't think we need a 4th shooting guard (although Dooling isn't really a ballhandler...).

A lot of people don't know this, but ever since 2007 KG has demanded management provide him with a middling combo guard for ritual sacrifice. It ensures a season of bountiful rebounds and colorful profanity.
