I was thinking earlier today that AB could be on the block, simple because of the depth at the G position.

96 minutes to go around for Rondo, Terry and Lee. I still think you are gonna see Green and Pierce playing together at the 2/3.

But the problem is, we are approaching the tax apron and likely won't be able to find a big (our only need) who makes what AB does. Maybe package him with Green or Bass+fillers for Smith?
With KG at center and the league going to a bunch of small ball you will see more and more of Pierce and Green not at the 2/3 but at the 3/4. Both players will put in significant minutes this year at the PF position with a three guard offense and Lee a de facto SF.

I think when all 4 guards are healthy, Rondo gets 35 MPG, Terry, 32 MPG and both Lee and Bradley about 27 MPG.
The league is headed in this direction. And Lebron, Melo, Smith, etc. are benefiting their teams better at the 4.

As a GM, if I had 90% assurance from physicians I trusted that his injuries won't be chronic/career-altering, I'd drop Lee and his extra 3 inches for AB without a second thought.

According to your math, that leaves only 25 minutes at SF for Pierce (and Green). If you like either of them at the 4, there's 73 minutes at F to be split up between Bass, Green and Pierce (which is ~24 minutes each - not including any PT for Sullinger or KG/Wilcox at the 4).

We obviously have depth. Wouldn't it be better to trade 2 good/really good players not getting as much PT as they provably deserve for one very good/great one?

And although a few teams have success in small ball, the majority of the league still is traditional (including teams like LAL, SAS, CHI, OKC, etc.). I'd take a big team any day. Sure against Miami we may have to go small because LeBron is physically unlike just about any other player in history. But there are 28 other teams we need to match up with as well, including the elite ones I already mentioned.

Why would we give him up for a big slow lumbering center, in a game where centers are becoming irrelevant?

if you think either demarcus cousins or jonas v is a slow lumbering center - you just havent done your research. would i give avery up for either of them? absolutely no questions asked. have you watched either of them play?

You are assuming perfect health. It is possible due to games missed due to injury that at year's end those players have those average minutes but because of games missed due to injuries and so forth that in any one game they don't each have those minutes. Some game they play more others less because of matchups.

Bradley, like Rondo, is practically untradeable unless a "can't say no" deal comes up.

That kind of deal is a deal for a super star like Dwight, Lebron or Durant which for obvious reasons, are not happening.

Avery Bradley is DA and Doc's shiney NEW diamond , they just finished polishing.   They are crazy about the kid.
They are PROUD as pecocks over Bradley and taking their time deveopling him.

I think AB will totally overcome the shoulder issues by years end , he is still a kid basically in age..

Chances are SLIM and NONE they would trade Bradley for any one player. So stop dreaming.  ;)

I think it would have to be a HUGE trade with multiple players .... involving the likes  Pierce, Bradley , BASS , Green , Melo, Joesph ,  ect for DA to land ....say Kevin LOVE quality BIG who would agree to a extended contract.

BTW... I'd love to see "LOVE" in Celtic green. .... ;D

Bradley, Green, Bass, 2 1st rounders for Kevin Love. I'd do that in a heart beat but not even David Kahn would take that deal.........or would he?

Having Love and Rondo would not only make the Celtics the funnest team in the NBA to watch but would keep the Celts in contention for the next 5 to 6 years.

I'm thinking it's much more likely to see lineups with Lee at the 3 than with Pierce at the 2.

I think Avery is your perfect 3rd guard not a starter though. Undersized gets abused by bigger guards usually, injuries always a factor with him. Lee is our starting 2 guard for the foreseeable future.

And Bradley would not fetch anything significant in a trade, no point in trading him..

From what I heard a lot of teams were asking about Bradley before the trade deadline.

this team is built to defeat the heat. avery is our KEY to stopping d-wade. the other key to stopping d-wade is courtney lee. then we have the triple attack on lebron with pierce-green-bass. expect 2 out of 3 of these players to be on the court double teaming lebron at any given moment.

My impression and belief is that Rondo, Bradley and Lee make up the guard rotation of the future.  Terry is here to provide scoring for the short-term championship push while KG and Pierce are still healthy and effective, to cover while Bradley recovers from surgery, and to provide some minutes behind Rondo at the 1.  While things seem a little crowded in the backcourt right now, in a couple of years Terry will be making way for the youngsters.  It's really set up quite well.  Unless a really nice trade offer comes around, I'd like to see Danny let that Rondo-Lee-Bradley trio develop together.
