I think its a win-win for us and him to take the offer from Boston. He already has a year with us. Didn't have a camp. Played with bad feet and seemed to play fairly well with some glaring weaknesses. I think KG took a liking to the guy which is a plus.....for him. If he rolls the dice and gambles one year with us. He gets a full camp with us, additional teaching from KG and if he plays well, his stock goes up even more. We can offer more after that and pay him handsomely. If he doesn't work out we can sign and trade him.
He can work on his weaknesses and improve his overall game. I think he benefits more by taking less money from us and learning how to play better than to take more money somewhere else and not improve his game much at all.
I'm hoping steamboat stays but I'll understand if he leaves.
