I think this is a great pick too.

A lot like Jared Jeffries. A different type of backup guard to your current options. Provides a valuable skill-set for your Head Coach to call upon when needed.

We like  what we did today. We added one of the top 3 pg's in the game and a great scorer at that. We got better on defense. With Westbrook and Blake running the floor lookout. Plus tommy T with aggresive defenders like Leonard and Westbrook is nice.

Can somebody explain what's so special about Kawhi Leonard.

Good defensive player with elite defensive potential. Elite possession creator already with excellent rebounding and forces a turnovers at a good clip.

Offensively, Kawhi had a much better jump-shot than expected coming out of college and hit the three somewhere in the high 30s during the regular season and I think he was over 40% in the playoffs if my memory is correct. Terrific finisher in the open court. Good cutter. A solid 12-14ppg scorer already with good efficiency. With his athleticism, good potential to grow into a quality slasher and get another 4-5 points a game. Score somewhere in the high teens.

In summary, Kawhi Leonard's potential is very much like Gerald Wallace + with a strong jump-shot that has legitimate three point range. Possibly a Luol Deng type producer down the line.

For a rookie, he's one heck of a defender. Great natural athletic ability, developing a 3 point game. Could be the next Tayshaun Prince?
