The New York Knicks select Kendrick Perkins
He helps our defense and now we can move bargs to the 6th man role. Boom! and you said we dont have Defense!
I like adding Perk. I think starting Perk makes the most sense. He helps create a defensive mindset amongst the rest of the players. Plus, with his defensive skill-set, I think Perk will have more value for you against opposing team's starting centers than their backup centers. You want his post defense against top offensive threats, not limited (offensively) backup centers.
I went back and forth on Bargnani or Ibaka as the second starter (35-36mpg) with the other playing 32-34mpg off the bench. Settled on Ibaka as the starter in the end. I think his defensive impact and influence is more important to the rest of this team's starting unit than Bargnani's offensive punch.
Plus, Bargnani is a real nice game-changer to be able to call off the bench. Completely different look from your starting lineup. I like having an option like that off the bench.
Anyway, either way, both should be playing a similar amount of minutes. Start Perk.
