Okay, because I drafted clear BPA Klay Thompson (I can't even believe he and Ben Gordon were picked in the same round) and because I typically believe in running out your five best players - the current plan is to run through the offense through Iguodala, or alternately, to keep defenses off balance, Manu while running pin downs and baseline screens for Thompson. Davis stays ready to cut to the rim, for lobs and put backs. That should work like a dream. Right?

But how about defensively? I'm not sure either Klay or Manu can guard high calibre point guards thirty-six minutes. That leaves Iggy, also leaves me vulnerable to any team with both an great scoring SF and quick-footed point guard looking to penetrate.

Great.

With this pick I can move MKG to the sweet 2 spot like I want him too.

Cleveland selects it's shooter and a good defender (at least he was billed this way). Has the potential to be a star too.

Harrison Barnes

I would do it the other way around. MKG at SF and Barnes at SG.

Barnes is lengthier which is why im putting him there.
I thought Barnes was taller but MKG was longer.

i really like the chemistry on this team. i don't think it's a championship contender (yet at least) but i just get the feeling that all 4 guys would generally enjoy playing with one-another and work that much harder.

i'd love to see a pure bruiser on this team...at the 4 i guess? someone who will retaliate if/when someone takes physical liberties against the young guys.

Teams like that are naturally beast anyway.

MKG listed at 6'7'' with a 7'0'' wingspan
Barnes listed at 6'8'' with a 6'11'' wingspan

Pretty similar I should say.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I'll take Gordon, thank you.  The guy comes up big in big moments, and makes a perfect sixth man.  Thompson puts up similar numbers on a lottery team.

Barnes was long but had a short standing reach. MKG was about 8-8 and Barnes was 8-5.

Barnes did have a high max vertical reach though. Not sure what that means.

Will take final offers for 5.22. I may still use the pick, but I may not.

Yeah, I am not ready to write off Ben Gordon yet either.

Detroit was an absolute train wreck. Especially their backcourt situation. I want to see what Ben Gordon can do in a good situation before I write him off - unfortunately Charlotte is unlikely to be that situation but at least they got rid of DJ Augustin. Some hope.

Not convinced B.Gordon has declined that much. I think he is a guy who could spur back to life if he found himself a good home. He has a terrific work-ethic both in terms of skill-level and his body. I'd be surprised if he has declined that much this early in his career.

Didn't the Pistons draft 9th this year?

Better than Golden State's 7th. ;)

Gordon, as noted, has shown that he can be a big part of excellent teams.  Even on the crappy team that Detroit is, he was an elite shooter.

On a contender, I'd trust Gordon much more than Thompson.

Good picks today --- much less interesting to read a whole day's worth in one sitting after being out at the pool but say lah vee.

6.8 is on the block, though I'm hoping my offer to an astute GM is accepted... win-win-win

Yes. Gordon hasn't been anything positive since he got paid. Almost the definition of a contract year player.

With the 21st pick, The Always Sunny team will go with:

Brandon Bass
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.
