  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
What do you think? I'm going with Lee - he's a tenacious defender and hits 3 pointers at 40% a shot.

At 105 years old, Ray is still the better player.  Amazing how Celt fans underestimate him still.  Celt fan is going to HATE playing against Ray next year.

Lee plays better defense, will still space the floor.

Ray is still very dangerous. But his speed has fallen on both ends of the court. He doesn't have much of a handle anymore. But he can still hit those 3s.

I'd rather have Lee.

Ray is better, but Lee should be better for us by a good margin.

Unfair comparison.  That's like asking is Jeremy Lin better than Jason Kidd.  Today...probably.  For the career unlikely, but it is yet to be written how good Courtney Lee will be how good his career will be. If you compare them at the same age well no...but Ray is a hall of famer the comparison is unfair.  Now if the question is who is the better fit for the Celtics today.  It's Lee, but if your asking who is the better player well it's still Ray.

Judas is ancient. One trick pony player at this point.

Picked Lee.

I would rather have Ray instead of Lee IF Pierce and KG were both about 2 or 3 years younger.

Courtney Lee and I don't even think it is close. Obviously Ray Allen has had a better career, and was far better in his prime. But Ray Allen is turning 37 tomorrow, and only does one thing better than Lee (shooting) and not by a wide margin. Even in that aspect he hasn't been able to keep his ankles/legs healthy enough to be strong in the playoffs.

Now would I rather have Lee taking a shot in the final minutes if they are both healthy? Of course not. But if one of these guys is going to play 2000+ minutes for my team, I take Lee every day of the week. And the margin will get bigger in 2014, 2015...

Give me Judas if he is healthy. With that being said if he struggles to stay healthy this season, getting C-Lee will be quite a steal for us.

As of right now at this point I'd say Lee. One both ends of the court I'd give him the advantage in most areas.

That said, if we're down by 3 with 4 seconds on the clock I still want Ray.
Peace through Tyranny

Ray, but only slightly better and with more risk of injury.

Shooting percentage is similar, points are similar, Ray better at the 3 ball and is totally clutch. Lee is tons better on D at this point.
