Hmm, I think this 2nd round pick was the one awarded from the Thunder for missing Green's heart condition. The Perk trade that keeps on giving.

Very nice acquisition. Courtney Lee is a really good role player and glue guy.

However, I am a little concerned about the minutes distribution. Worried that Lee may eat into more valuable player's playing time (Terry, Bradley). We'll see how that goes ... have to wait and see. May become an issue. May not.

I really doubt it. I think they'll eat up a bit more of Rondo's court time, more than anything. Which in turn will help us conserve his energy.

The other side I think Green will also see himself affected, but even more so, Bass when they slide Green to the PF constantly. You'll see.

I think we'll see Lee playing quite a bit of SF for us.

Given our overall injury issues that's an a concern I'm happy to live with.

Pretty close to it.

I'm just glad we don't have to hear the Marshon Brooks stuff anymore.

Can Lee play any PG?
Yes -- at a rudimentary level.

Ugh that'd be a terrible defensive/rebounding unit.

You'd have 3 minus rebounders at SG/SF/PF......

AKA Keyon Dooling level?

Courtney Lee can defend the position at a high level. Rebound at a good level. Is a capable ball-handler, passer and decision maker who shows good composure on the ball Is capable of initiating an offense.

What he can't do is create offensively (not for himself and certainly not for others). So you need to restrict the duties of the PG offensively ... put him in a non-PG centric offense (say the Triangle offense, or alongside a playmaking wing like Pierce, or play through your big men in either the high or low post) ... then Courtney Lee can be a functional PG.

But with Rondo, Terry and Bradley (who is a good comp for Lee @ PG) ... there is no real need to ever use Lee at PG.

Wouldn't Terry be a better ball handler than Lee.  Could a Terry-PG Lee-SG back court work?

So you'd see a Rondo, Bradley, Lee, Green, Garnett as a terrible defensive unit? I'd see concern rebounding, but don't think that's a "terrible" defensive unit, particularly for limited minutes.

By the same token, you'd see some Rondo, Lee, Pierce, Green, KG

And you can see some Terry, Bradley, Lee, Green, KG...

There are lot of different looks we can give, with good/great wing defense, and a great defensive anchor in KG.

Very flexible roster, I won't be losing any sleep over rebound concerns with that unit. But it's all about playing against the right match-up.
