I would take Blatche, the guy is now scrub. He's a head-case, but not a scrub.

Is he a scrub or not a scrub?

Very talented head case horrible attitude, so bad not even time with KG, Doc or this locker room likely to fix it.

Nobody has convinced me that he isn't worth taking on at the min.

Worst case scenario is what?

He sets us back a month or two in the progression of our chemistry and the mental growth of our players.

He may also ruin Fab Melo (and maybe Sully and Bradley). That's the absolute worst case scenario, having our best prospects addicted to booze and strip clubs.

If we give him a veterans minimum type deal for one year though, the guys got all the motivation in the world to prove himself. The guy is the second coming of Mark Blunt, but Mark Blunt played motivated basketball when the contract year was coming up. This is why signing Blatche wouldn't be such a bad idea.

The landscape has changed dramatically with the trade of JJJohnson and SWilliams.  I feel it is much more likely that Danny Ainge will go after Blatche now.

Agree with the OP. I'd be all for signing Blatche. Regardless of him being a knucklehead in D.C., he's an athletic big which we sorely need.

We need to rememember this is basketball, not a competition for who's the nicest guy outside the court.

Nothing unfortunate about the possibility of adding a big with an offensive game to our budding squad.

Williams was getting waived, and Johnson was slotted to be the last big on the bench. Nothing has changed "dramatically". We may sign another veteran backup for depth, but the chance of getting Blatche is about as high as seeing the Halley comet tomorrow.
