well, it seems like dwight really wanted to have the career shaq had...from the superman monicker... to being the funny big man... from orlando... now going to LA... i bet after many years he will transfer to Miami... and then a short stint in Phoenix... and when his career is about to end, he will end up with the Celtics!!! we'll be getting Dwight after all.. ;D

EXACTLY!!  Soon as Kobe and Wade become non factors , then Bynum and Howard head for Miami. ..

..... worse ...... Lebron goes to LA. >:(

not surprising Dwight would sign there.  LA always seems to get the big-time centers from elsewhere in the league to go there.

I think this makes them a little better short term but Howard is not a huge upgrade over Bynum at this point AND Kobe/Nash are on the backsides of their careers.  With everything LA gave up to get both Nash and Howard, I think they'll be sucking wind after next year as Nash, Kobe and Pau's games start to really slide and they have no draft picks or cap money available to bring in new players of any real value.

Yes, this is what I'm saying.... the window for LA is really on open as long as KOBE is healthy.  Nash is almost finished as starting guard, he can't play 40 minutes anymore, his back is bad too.  Pau has slowed down .  Basically , its still all about what KOBE can do.  He stillneeds to give them the 25 points 10 boards a night for them to win.  Thats alot of pressure and the season is LONG.. LA doesn't have a YOUNG backup core to asorb the minutes.

Lakers and Heat are built the same in that ONE injury to Kobe or Lebron is a disaster.

Sterns next problem ...HOW to be sure that the HEAT vs LA match up unfolds .  Little fat 4 eyed bugger will split his pants if this happens. ;D

Funny how you imply that Stern is fixing the NBA to ensure a HEAT-Lakers matchup, then list all the reasons it won't happen.

So is Stern going to make it happen or not?  Why did Stern decide to build such a flawed team while fixing the NBA?

And in an earlier post you said OKC will still beat them.  So Stern is guaranteeing the Lakers make the finals by building them a worse team than OKC?  Your posts don't adhere to logic.

Is the NBA fixed or not in your world?

And btw, Kobe never averaged 10 rebounds and he has 5 championships.  I fail to see why he has to get "10 boards a night" when he has Dwight and Gasol on his team.

Well luckily Nash and Kobe are old.  Otherwise this is unfortunate news.

The only way Dwight could bite Shaq's style worse is if he's soon going to star in Kazaam 2.

Shaq's best off the court product.  That's not saying much I guess.

UGH...

Not only does that make the Lakers a Super Power. It makes the Cavs and their jerk owner Dan Gilbert as a legit team in the East.
lol you guys are overreacting.

It really rustles my jimmies that teams continually trade over their best players to the Lakers.

Lakers are potentially trading the best center in the league for the best center in the league. This does not make them favorites to win it all. It makes them a top 3 or 4 team in the WEST. I still say OKC beats them in 6.

I'm all for Howard to the Lakers. It's good for basketball, and it's about time to end the drama.
DH is an obvious upgrade over Bynum. Anyone that doesn't see that is blind. Howard is CONSISTENT. Double double machine and will always end the game with top rebounds and blocked shots.

As a Boston fan, I hope that Orlando would only be taking Varejo for salary matching reasons, and would consider buying him out.
Rondo,Bradley,Green,Sullinger,Varejo would be a nice young competitive core
Can't stop, Rondo!

If this happens ESPN won't shut up about it for the next 11 months.

If your premise was true, you'd be on to something with your conclusion.

But its not. The Lakers ARE in this case trading one of the best centers in the league for hands down the best center in the league.

It would be like trading Kevin Durant for LeBron James. LeBron is clearly better, even though Durant is still really good.

The difference is that there is still way more space between Howard and Bynum than there is between James and Durant.

That's what I'm afraid of the most.

"he really doesn't want to go to LA" huh?

lol

The truth is he didn't. Lakers for 2 years were trying to get him. But Dwight didn't want to go the Lakers for couple of reason. One is Kobe explicitly said he will always be the man in LA. Two, he was hesitant following Shaq's career path. But Howard that flip flopper changed his mind.

Kudas to you for sticking to your position. TP

You had me and then you lost me.  The gap between LeBron and Durant is about equal to Howard and Bynum.

Anyways, Lakers are getting better with Howard no quesiton.
