Powe, by far. Bass is an undersized, finesse, jump shooting PF, which in my book is the worst kind of PF.
Powe 1.56 points per shot over his career, a ridiculously high number, and one of the highest in NBA history. Bass 1.27 pps. To put Powe's offensive effectiveness in perspective, Shaq's career pps is 1.47. When Powe got the ball, good things happened.
Powe a rebound every 3.6 minutes. Bass a rebound every 4.6 minutes.
Powe, physical defender. Bass a softie.
If Powe had been blessed with good heath, he would have carved out an incredible career in the league. Instead he became a cautionary tale -- Don't play when your in a contract year and are not 100% healthy -- that Jeremy Lin must have heeded this past playoffs.
It was sad watching Powe try to play against the Cs for Chicago in the summer league. We'll always have Finals Game 2, Leon.
