Delfino would be a pretty fantastic fit on our team.  (I don't necessarily trust Blakely, but the report makes sense.)

Is it bad that I'm equally as excited for this as I was for Lee?

I think I just want us to get SOMEBODY

I put Delfino in the same class of player as Lee.  Lee has more value because he's younger, but both are good defenders and shooters.

So why is Lee the "undisputed" best SG left on the market according to some sources? He's only three years younger.

why can't we have both guys, Delfino and Peaches? we need every bit of depth we can get, guys WILL get hurt

I honestly believe if Pie was willing to take the Vet or even BAE (they already said he wants more), he probably would have already (assuming DA knows what he is looking to get). He can surely get more elsewhere. Pie made over 6m last season I think. He can probably get 2-3m from a few teams probably... we can only give him just under 2m. If Pie chooses to come back it's because he really wants to be here over money.

Is he athletic enough to play the 2?
I don't really think so. About the same as Pierce.

Sorry but Pierce can't do any of this anymore.

I think Delfino is more athletic than PP at this point.  He would have trouble with the quicker 2's for sure, but would be way better on them than PP right now.

I think CD would be a good signing.  Especially to a reasonable, and short contract.

I also think we can get both Delfino AND Pietrus.. just for fun

Lets assume:

Lee goes to Minny
Brown goes back to Phx

the market for SG is drying up big time

Try to get Delfino for the BAE, or even S&T with Milwaukee. Mil is always up for signs and trades, we did one with them last year for Doooling. Then offer Pietrus who has been so outward about his desire to stay in Boston the minimum, I think he would take it.

So that wasn't PP dunking on heads in the playoffs on a bum knee?

Can Delphino do any of that any more?  I didn't see any Buck highlights in there.  Or at least not many, might have been one or two.

I honestly would like that. He won't be too pricey, he can shoot the 3 and creates a lot of steals.

Good player, would be all for it.

Not to rain on everyone's parade here but Delfino is the definition of a chucker. The last 3 years as a buck he has averaged about 5 three point attempts a game and connected on 36% of them which isn't really that impressive for someone who takes that many a game.  His overall FG% last year was 40%.  Is that really what were looking for right now? Maybe, but he should not be compared at all to Courtney Lee who is younger and still getting better.

All that said he wouldn't be a bad option for us this deep into free agency but I don't see the guys on this team watching him hoist up shot after shot.  Were not the bucks who have the best chuckers in the league.. jennings, ellis, delfino... just saying different type of team.

They didn't have to take back salary to do a S&T for Dooling.  Milwaukee is always up for deals that save them money.

how is 36% on 5 3pt shots per game bad? Why would his % be better because he takes a lot of 3's? that makes no sense at all......

Eh what does he give us that Pietrus doesn't. I would give Pietrus 1 year the 1.8 deal and give him a player option for next season. Don't mind Delfino and would take him if peaches is way gone.

Probably that he'd be cheaper than Pie. People keep forgetting that Pie made like 6mil last season, not just the VM LOL.

No disrespect meant to Peaches, but the Suns overpaid him, realized it, and that's why they bought him out.

Again, I love the dude, but if he thinks he's getting anywhere near $6 million this season, he's crazier than I thought he was.

Personally, I think he'd take somewhere just shy of $2 million to be a Boston Celtic again.  I don't think the problem is that he's holding out for the big bucks, but that he hasn't been offered any bucks yet.
