backing up Rondo in a small role since he gobbles up most of the minutes and a little bit of the two

This is if his player options picked up the coaching staff and Danny seem to like him a lot he's kind of growing on me

Jason Terry is our back up point gaurd (until Bradley is back).

Once everyone is healthy, Bradley will spell Rondo.

Moore is depth and looks to be playing his way into another year of the NBA.

yea forgot to mention while Bradley's out we could use scoring from wherever we can get so that's a plus with him. defense is great but you got to put the ball in the hole and we struggle big time if Moore can fill it up in actual games could see the court.

I think we might go without a real backup point guard.  Terry will probably bring the ball up court if there is ball pressure.  We will probably go with a combination of Rondo with Bradley/Moore/Christmas and then use Terry as a backup point when Rondo rests with one of those three.

If Rondo gets hurt, I think we are in real trouble.

I think this is true regardless of who our backup is, since Rondo is incredibly important to this team.

Still, this is why I'd like to see Delonte brought on, especially if Moore is traded in a deal for Courtney Lee.

until Bradley comes back, I can see Moore be our backup pg til he comes back. If he does, he should take the opportunity to show the celtics he belongs here

That's what I'm seeing too.

I also wouldn't be surprised if AB started once he returned, and JET comes off the bench. He's been doing the instant-offense sixth man thing for a long time, I think it's kind of his jam.

me too, at this point Terry is still a better scorer, and we need a scoring leader off the bench who can be consistent. Bradley and Bass will provide youth to our starting lineup with Rondo.

I'm really hoping Terry and Green can both give us 20 pts a night. Our bench needs consistent scoring

I don't think Rondo should play more than 35mpg in the regular season.  I want him to be able to play all out and not try to conserve energy so he can be effective in the fourth quarter.  I do think he needs a backup that is good enough so he won't feel any pressure to play through nagging injuries.

I don't think Moore is the guy for that purpose.  I could see him in a role more like Eddie House, where he mainly shoots threes (but not as good), while trying not to be as much of a defensive liability as House.

The reality is that Rondo averaged nearly 37 mpg last season during the regular season.  In the playoffs he averaged nearly 43 mpg.

Bradley only put up 21 mpg as an average, but put up nearly 33 mpg in the month of March when he was on his tear.

Jason Terry put up nearly 32 mpg last season in Dallas.

Even if you were to conservatively estimate that Rondo will paly 35 mpg and Bradley will only play 28 (and that's very low IMHO, since he's so young), that only leaves 33 mpg of backup minutes between Rondo and Bradley.

Even if we were to adjust Terry down to 28 mpg, that only leaves 5 mpg for whoever the backup is.

And considering that the C's need to create some more minutes for Green at the 3, I wouldn't be surprised to see Pierce slide down to the 2 for those leftover minutes.

The end of the story, assuming everyone's healthy, the backup 2 guard spot isn't a huge need and becomes practically nonexistent in the playoffs (the only exclusion really being foul trouble).

That might be a little unfair to Moore. Last year, Doc called him the second best shooter on the team. And uhh, the best shooter from last year is gone now. Moore is not a bad defender, either. He's not great, but he's like Dooling in that he has a lot of energy at least.

I miss Arroyo.   :-\

I like a three guard backcourt rotation too.

I like Rondo to play around 33-34 minutes. I think that level of rest allows him to play at his highest level most often (effort/focus/stamina wise) while also giving him his best preparation for the playoffs.

I'd like Bradley and Terry both up around 30 minutes. So that will give you roughly 93-94 minutes a game for those three backcourt players.

I think squeezing a fourth guy in there (for 10-15mpg or even 20+mpg) has a strong likelihood of hurting Terry's + Bradley's performance (due to the decrease in minutes) and consequently the backcourt's impact overall.
