Trade that I think is better than Houston:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=85t4gle

CLE Trades: Varejao, Zeller, T Thompson, + ~15.5 million in expiring contracts they have
CLE Gets: Bynum, Turkeyglue, Q-Rich, Duhon

ORL Trades: Howard, Turkeyglue, Q and J Rich, Duhon, BBD
ORL Gets: Varejao, T Thompson, T Zeller, CLE's 15 million in expirings, Artest and Blake ($11 million over 2 years), Josh McRoberts and Goudelock (another 4 million expiring)

LAL Trades: Bynum, MWP, Blake, McRoberts, Goudelock
LAL Gets: BBD, J-Rich, Howard

Orlando ends up with:

Varejao, Tristan Thompson, Tyler Zeller, ~20 million in expiring contracts, plus another 11 million next season.

Bro, would you rather have to deal with dwight in our conference or the POTENTIAL chance of seeing him in the finals. Alot has to go right for both the celtics and lakers to be in the finals. I would rather not have the nets be another team the celtics have to worry about thank you very much.

So it's financial relief, TT, Zeller, and whatever Orlando could get for flipping Varejao.

How does that compare to, say, two of the Rockets rookies (Lamb and Royce White), a lottery pick from Toronto, and as much immediate financial relief?

I assume that Cleveland would also send picks.

Because Houston allegedly isn't offering comparable financial relief. They're not willing to take back as much money, at least per the last report from Aldridge.

They're saying 1 of the 3 picks this year, the Toronto pick, and Martin+Pieces to take back one contract.

WIth this offer, Orlando is basically shedding all their bad contracts.

You'd have to ask Orlando that question.  Zeller was picked only one spot after Royce.  They might like Royce more, they might like Zeller more.  TT was an early lottery pick, so they may prefer him to the Toronto pick. Varejao could net them a first as well.  And we don't really know if they are offering just as much cap relief.

The offer looks competitive to me.  The Cavs also have plenty of picks (admittedly late ones) they can add in.  The Cavs might just have a better offer than the Rockets.  Clearing the books completely and adding picks and prospects must be a nice option for Orlando.

And the irony of Dan Gilbert helping Dwight Howard go to Los Angeles is too rich for it not to happen.

Since Bynum is from the Philly area I always thought 76ers might want to get in on the action.

Orl - Sends Dwight and Turkoglu to LA; Gets Pau and Iggy (amnesty Metta)and an LA pick (if they have any left)
LA - Sends Pau & pick to Orl and Bynum to Philly; Gets Dwight, Turkoglu & Duhon
Phil - Sends Igudala; gets Bynum.

In my mind that isnt great for Orl and Phill but sucks for LA - which what I want to believe will happen.

That trade is pretty brutal for Orlando too.  Their goals here are simple.  They want to rebuild with:

1) A clear salary cap sheet
2) Young players
3) Draft picks

This trade gives them none of that.  Just more old players with big salaries that don't win them the NBA title.

I hate LA and MIA, I would have rather had him go to the Nets or Houston.

I care about the title counts, and even though LA stole some titles from Minny, It still bothers me they might accumulate more titles than Boston in any shape or form.  I would rather ANY team win the title than LA at this point.  The title count concerns me a lot more than Dwight being in our division and competing with him and the nets.  We will probably have to beat Dwights team one way or another, might as well face him early.

Plus, whats up with LA getting soo many great centers.  Just in recent times they get to have Shaq, Pau gasol (for almost nothing) and now Dwight?  Aren't there 30 teams in the nba?  LA seems to always land talented big men.

The short answer is that it is Los Angeles.  The next time you see a swimsuit issue, a supermodel on TV, or a Hollywood blockbuster, compare it to the next time you have to shovel out your car in 10 inches of snow.

Then answer, Boston or Los Angeles?

I'm praying for Houston to get him.  I can't stand the idea of Howard in LA with Nash/Kobe/Pau.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Your answer only applies to Shaq... he wanted to go to LA. DH doesn't, but will probably be traded. Pau was traded there. It's not like those other guys said we want LA over Bos. I'm thinking if Pau knew he would win those 2 chips in Bos he would choose Bos knowing he wouldn't have to put up with Kome! If DH had no choice but to choose between LA or Bos... well, I can tell you he doesn't want to have to try and live up to Shaq in LA... I think the choice would be very difficult for him and he might choose Bos b/c of that reason, above weather.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Well I don't know if they chose to go there b/c of weather I wasn't even alive (am only 29 anyway lol) but the comment was mainly about recent bigs... given the choice Shaq was the only one who actually chose LA but b/c of Hollywood, not the weather (he was in Orl...)!
