Quote
Celtics people aren’t talking about it publicly, but multiple sources from around the league insist the club is extremely upset — no surprise here — that Ray Allen left to sign with the NBA champion Miami Heat. General manager Danny Ainge and Rivers have been largely gracious with their comments, but word is strong that they are not pleased with Allen’s explanation for turning down the Celts’ higher offer.

“I don’t think they were happy with some of the reasons Ray gave for leaving and some of the other reasons that were implied,” one NBA source said.

Not surprised. If I were Danny or Doc, I'd be upset too. They're one of a very few people with a legitimate beef.

I can't believe no one has been able to get quotes on how KG and Pierce feel on the matter.

Doc and DA haven't been exactly candid. Wyc has been the closest to expressing his true feelings.

I think that KG and PP will keep it professional on the surface, but are seething underneath.

Allen's image has taken a whack, not just here but around the NBA. Players don't like traitors.

Just ask Jarret Jack and Marcus Camby.

I think people also see him as actually being traded earlier in the season though too. And as a result didn't owe the team as much as people think. However I think it was ultimately petty. He was offered a no trade clause and twice the money as a way of saying "Hey Ray. Our Bad. We Love You." I think he owed Pierce and KG and Doc more then, 'well guys, peace. I am off to join the team that ended our season the last two years."

Oddly enough, even as a fan who loathes Allen at this point, I don't really think Danny should have any beef with Ray.

Danny has no loyalty to anyone.

Doc, and KG/Pierce have legit reason to feel betrayed though.

On another matter though; how is it you're always here, always posting, yet seem to always appear as "offline"?  Do you possess some sort of blogging superpowers, that allow you to post even when not "online"?  Just wondering, It's kinda wierd, and probably wierd that I've noticed it.

That's all it is. In forum settings, there is a box you can check, that says 'Hidden' or something like it. Maybe 'allow others to see when I'm online'.

The fans don't have the right to be mad for the same reasons? Why not?

Cuz what Ray did had nothing to do with the fans personally.

No, but it does still affect us.  Most of us take this stuff kind of personally to a certain degree (even if we maybe shouldn't).

In all honesty I did it way before I even became a mod. Someone told me about it, and i liked the idea that people wouldn't know what I was reading/where I was all the time. Got used to it.

Ray can go to hell.

I think he's done, anyway.
