C's need a rangy guard. Peaches fits that bill but money maybe a problem.

I also like the idea of Carlos Delfino, but the BAE may not be enough for him either.

I dont see how we wont be able to afford Pietrus...theres a reason no team has signed him yet IMO

plus, he has a STRONG desire to return to the C's so I could see him taking abit of a home-town discount for the BAE for one year...with hopes he could get more next year

ronnie brewer, delonte west, Leandro barbosa, childress are also all out there.

I am not sure sign and trades are out of the question.  Danny just needs to move do a different avenue (Houston).
Agreed -- a sign and trade is still a plausible pathway to landing Courtney Lee.

Houston are interested in a S&T. A willing participant.

I think that this means we'll miss out on anyone more expensive than the BAE. Ronnie Brewer? CJ Miles? I don't see them carrying Moore and Christmas.

How much do you think Pietrus is asking for? He seems like he only wants to come back here.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I read a report though that if they land someone significant e.g Dwight or Bynum that they will try to keep Lee and re-sign him as to build around, in fact they might already do that now that they have Lin.

i think lee is done. boston needs to try to get pietrus to take the BAE...if he balks..you go look for some sort of serviceable SG to take it...issue is there isn't many out there that will

I think we need to give Houston the full-court press and throw as much at them for Lee as we can: Dooling, Johnson, cash, one or two second-round picks, and nonguaranteed deals (Moore and Williams) that they can immediately get rid of. I'd even give them a first-round pick—having Lee (on top of everyone else we already have) could be that important to beating the Heat.

If we can get Lee, then bring back Pietrus on small money if he's willing, and maybe land Steamah with the BAE if we can.

PG: Rondo, Terry, Scrub X
SG: Bradley, Lee, Pietrus
SF: Pierce, Green, Joseph
PF: Bass, Wilcox, Sullinger
C:  KG, Steimsma, Melo

If we can't get Lee, then re-sign Dooling, give Pietrus the BAE, sign some scrub 2 guard (Sasha? Daniels?) for emergencies, and some other "serviceable," insurance-type big (Hollins?).

PG: Rondo, Terry, Dooling
SG: Bradley, Pietrus, Scrub X
SF: Pierce, Green, Joseph
PF: Bass, Sullinger, Scrub Y
C:  KG, Wilcox, Melo

I realize that this latter scenario is far from ideal, but let's face it: if we have to play the third-stringers a lot, we aren't going anywhere anyway. And what team in history has ever had a great third string?  ;D

ive said this before, but barring injuries is Lee really THAT important to get? I know he would he would slide into the starting role while bradley recovers.

but once Bradley comes back, you're splitting minutes at the 2 between Bradley/Terry/FA

i think a Pietrus could fill that role pretty well..before his concussion he was really good for us

Why can't we still S&T for Lee??

with what? moore? Johnson? williams? nobody wanted those scrubs

I don't think anybody was counting those players.  Ainge would most likely use Pietrus or Dooling in a sign and trade package instead of the players you mention.

It's still possible.

I like your second scenario with "scrub X" being Christmas and "scrub Y" being Johnson.  Or, I would go without either Dooling or Christmas and add Hollins or Williams as an extra big.
