I have gotta say, it would be pretty awesome to get Blatche and have KG kick his butt (and attitude) into shape, but obviously another team will get to him first. He's a bonehead, but is still a seven footer with talent.
like who? wouldn't they have to pay a good chunk of his salary? not sure teams would want to d that

Good chunk? If all 3 years are fully guaranteed, they can just offer the vet. minimum per year, and be done with it.

His big issue in the past was that he had a huge salary. There were even threads around here where people thought about taking him on. Brand was just picked up for ~ 2 million. I imagine somebody would be willing to give him that.

If not and I overvalue Blatche, all the better. What better way to improve your image around the league than by playing with KG.
I think they'd have to pay more than just a couple mil though wasn't Brand somewhere around 10mil total?

I think bidding starts at the last year of his deal, divided over three seasons.

In other words, $8.5 million ($2.8 mil a year).

No, it's the vet. min. per year for the length of the contract, if all years are fully guaranteed.

Vet min based on the individual player's term of service to date, I assume?

Blatche Could start at Center or PF for the C's.  He's that talented.  Now will he come here I say KG is going hellllll no.  They do not like each other and I think Danny will defer to KG and pass.  That talent though is just so appealing.

Yes, so I think it would be the sum of 1,146,337 + $1,186,459 + $1,227,985. Not sure if that's exactly how it works. Maybe it's just 1,146,337 for all 3 years (but doubt it).

You bid the total, but it's spread through the 3 years as far as per year payments go, and salary cap implications.

I'd snatch him up in a heartbeat if he clears waivers. Low risk, high reward player.

I admit that I've never seen this dude play, but it looks like he has a nice shot and a good handle for a big man.

I know these dudes (Darko & Blatche) are known for not caring and bad attitudes, but some of that can surely be chalked up to the bummer it is to be part of a losing culture. Minny and Washington have been pathetic for years and devoid of veteran leadership to keep order in the house. These dudes may be knuckleheads but they have upside and could be had for the vet min (potentially) that we have to offer.

Looks like Blatche has more game than Ryan Hollins.

Darko doesn't have talent, Blatche does. They're both really lazy. And Ryan Hollins is not a basketball player.

Agreed. Let's get Blatche then! Darko and Hollins have size at 7'1" though. There are times when 6'9" guys like Wilcox are simply too short.

Teams that can make a bid on Andray Blatche: Cleveland, Houston, Minnesota, NO, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, Sacto, Toronto

Not sure this is 100% accurate. I believe Hollinger said that Sacto no longer has the cap space to bid on Blatche. I doubt Houston or Minnesota will, having bigger plans with their cap space.

For the record: I don't expect any team to bid on Blatche. Will generate some interest in free agency.

I know we don't have much options but man just re-read those names and listen to it for a second Hollins, Blatche, Darko almost embarrassing lol

Man whatever happened to Andray Trashy? That guy was one of the up and coming bigs in the league at one point. Now Washington can't dump him fast enough. Bullets get a lot of talented headcases...

There isn't a more talented guy on the market, if he makes it to free agency.

Unfortunately, there also isn't a guy more likely to blow up in your face.  Just too much of a gamble in my opinion - he'd be an enormous steal if somebody managed to straighten him out, but the chances of that happening are very low.
