Jermaine O'Neal said that Boston wasn't a good fit for him. He's looking forward to finding a situation where he can have a better role.

Good luck finding a team that will give you a starting role... oh wait, that was the C's, doubt anyone else will.

Yeah pretty much, not sure what different role he wants. Starting C playing around 20 MPG, I guess he wants to be a 3rd string guy at 8 MPG?

that's was a typo in the message.  it was really
"He's looking forward to finding a situation where he can have a buttered roll"

much more fitting for the shape he was in when on the C's.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
What a tool!!!

Best fit for him is retirement and to stop robbing teams of legitimate roster spots and cap space!

Of course Boston wasn't a good fit.  He needs a franchise with 3 team doctors on the payroll, not just one.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Getting injured and offering nothing over the two years he was here was not the Celtics fault. He was given the chance to be an integral part of our aging veteran stars and he basically fell off the face of the planet.

He is also being pretty hypocritical, as he was very excited to be here before....

J.O. is a waste of human DNA. He has stolen money for the last 4 years. He and the Lakers deserve each other...one is the turd...the other the toliet

Read some tweets a while ago saying that he looked great in a work-out today - in good shape, getting off the ground well, shooting well. Kupchak and Brown were there and reportedly really interested in signing him for the min.

Say this for him, JO's skills as a player may have fallen off a cliff, but he is still the master of smooze when it comes to sucking up to new fans/team/media

The man gives a fantastic press conference. every year you read the heartwarming JO piece about how he feels "as healthy as I ever have!" and how he's "Looking forward to getting back to how I know i can play"

I also assume he gives a FANTASTIC job interview based on the fact that his corpse still gets paid to play....the few times a year he can actually step on the court.

Yea, remember when we heard this last summer?

and the summer before that?

EVERY YEAR he gets some media member to smooze for him and write a puff piece on how great and rejuvenated he looks. Man has a gift.

Can we look back on all the JO hate threads and see who the apologists were? I remember some pretty awesome defenses of this nancy. Where are you all now?
