A little pricey, but that Brooklyn team should make the playoffs. The backcourt they have can be explosive, and then Brook can score in the post.

If these guys start to buy in defensively, they're gonna be a tough team.

When I look at their roster, I see free trips to the rim for LeBron, Wade, Rondo, Rose, and everyone who wants to come.  Layups for everyone.

Power forward Kris Humphries agreed to a two-year, $24 million contract to return to the Brooklyn Nets, a source close to the situation told ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

Good job by Humphries' agent on that one.

Didn't he basically have them over the same barrel that Ray had the Celts over? That if they didn't overpay him they'd have no way to get anyone decent to take his place?

Yes, but that is mostly their own fault.  The 2-guard is overpaid.  The 3 is overpaid.  The 5 is overpaid.  And now the 4 must be overpaid.  Fantastic.

  I'm pretty happy about it.

Let's not forget that the 1 has averaged 64 games per year in his last three seasons.

In 2014 the Nets will be paying $78 million for a starting lineup that stands a decent chance of not having a single All-Star on it.

Crazy the Nets have 4 starters who all make more money then Rondo and only one of them is on his level or better.

When Rondo becomes an unrestricted free-agent, he'll get paid.

Kris Humphries has now finished consecutive seasons in the top 6 for total rebound percentage (6th last year, 3rd the year before) and has finished in the top 5 (5th in each) in consecutive seasons for rebounds per game.  Only Kevin Love and Dwight Howard join him in each of those.  He has improved his overall offensive game and bumped his foul shooting over 75% last year.

Charlotte offered him 3 yrs, 28 million so the NJ wasn't totally out in left field and has been pointed out NJ could not replace him and could use a big dollar contract like his to make trades (either this year before the deadline or next summer).  Thus in a vacuum probably overpaid, but not by a whole lot given the totality of the circumstances.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I don't see a problem with this deal. It's about market value for an elite rebounder with an improving offensive game on a team that sorely needs rebounding out of its 4/5 spots.

This Nets team will give us our most significant challenge in the Atlantic that we've seen in the KG era. Excellent rebounding out of the 2-3-4 spots, great scoring out of the 1, 2 and 5 spots...defense will be an issue though, but I could see this team being on par with, say, the Clippers.

Me too.  It could have been Dwight (still could be though, lets hope they stand pat)

The years are more important than the amount when your owner is that willing to spend.

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I know he's older, but Antawn Jamison put up 17 and 7 last night and is on the verge of signing w/ the Lakers for minimum money? Why' not offer him 1/4th this money if you're Brooklyn?
