* 38% lifetime from the 3.
* 87.5% free-throw shooter.
* Assist machine (last 4yr per G: 8.9, 5.9, 8.9, 8.8 )

And he's available -

"Calderon’s agent has let it be known that the veteran point guard would prefer to be traded rather than return as a backup to Kyle Lowry, but Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo said he has not found a trade offer to his liking as of yet".

1. He doesn't want to be a backup. So why have him back up Rondo?
2. That gives us four small guards in Rondo, Terry, Calderon, and Bradley. We need some size.
3. Calderon's salary for this year is nearly $10M, so we'd have to give up an important player in our rotation to get him, when we could just work out a S&T for Lee for guys like JJJ and E'Twaun and Dooling.

So I'm gonna go with no, but that's just me.

This idea would be absolutely GREAT if it wasn't practically impossible.

very good points, I wasn't sure of what his contract status was. 10 million is def. to extreme for a back-up PG. Wonder what Toronto will do with him because I can't foresee them wanting to pay 10mil for a back-up PG either.

He wouldn't want to come here and we would't want to pay him that much. Beyond those two facts his salary would make it nearly impossible for the C's to acquire him.

Yup, but I don't see a deal happening between Toronto and the C's.

If he's serious, Calderon should seek a buyout with the Raptors.

The free agency period is still pretty young. He could potentially earn MLE money from a team looking for a starting caliber PG.

if i could have a negative percent interest in calderon i would... since i can only have zero percent interest, then i in fact have zero percent interest in jose calderon.

Not being sarcastic.. But im honestly curious as to why your so anti Calderon? I thought he had a pretty decent year last season. He can pass and hit the three. Doesn't play much defense and is admittedly an injury risk every year. But as the backup point guard he wouldn't be playing too many minutes anyway. So what gives?

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
No defense, no thank you.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.
