Wow!

I am utterly astounded by how many people in the thread have responded they root for LA.  Have we lost our minds?

Don't be deceived by the devils in Miami.

LA cannot tie the Celtics for banners.  I don't want to ever see that in my lifetime.

Given the built in advantage the Lakers have in attracting top talent (their great weather), I'd be very surprised if they didn't pass us in championships this decade.  Sure, I don't want it to happen, but expect it will.

For now, I think the Heat are a much more dislikeable bunch than this current crop of Lakers, so I root against the Heat, but honestly, it's like asking somebody what their favorite disease is.

I hate the Miami Heat, their current batch of players, and mostly their fair weather fans.
I actually respect the Lakers franchise as it is rich in history, and run by great management.

Choosing between these two in a Finals matchup is just like choosing on whether I would want Herpes or Gonorrhea.

Having said that, no way I'm rooting for the Lakers ever, not in a million years.

 :-\ I kind of like Nash - he'd have made a great Celtic.  :-\

I HATE Riley, LeBron and Wade.

I HATE Kobe.

I absolutely do not want them to catch us in rings - but ESPN will be un freaking bearable if the Heat win.  UN FREAKING BEARABLE!

Even of the Fakers win, we still own them head-to-head in the Finals by a huge margin.

So which is gonogrrhea and which one is herpes? LOL

Lakers have to be the Herpes right?  They just keep popping back up as title contenders every other year or so.

I don't know for sure, but its highly likely that I won't watch.  Maybe if I'm at a bar and its on I'll watch, but I don't think I'll make an effort to watch.  Too difficult when I can't root for either team.

As much as I hate this, if this were to happen I would have to root for the Heat... no way I want the Lakers matching our banner count.

I wouldn't root for anyone, but I'd be rooting harder for the Heat to lose.  I just can't stand that team, and I feel like they are trying to destroy the game of basketball.

If the Minneapolis/LA Lakers tie us in championship banners, then we'll just have to work harder to retake the lead.  If we want to stay the greatest franchise in sports, we are going to have to win some more at some point and not just sit back and hope for failure from our rivals.

Definitely the Heat.  I have no desire to see the Lakers equal us in championships.  Plus, Kobe + Dwight would be the most hateable combination in the NBA even if they didn't play for the Lakers.

Heat.

I don't want to see the Lakers catch the C's for titles.

I really don't want the stupid Kobe >= Jordan people to use "both have 6 titles" to talk in circles forever.

I will bungie jump off the Space Needle naked (except wearing my old school Celtics Jacket with the rope tied around my neck, if this happens.

This,exactly.

For now, the Heat are much more dislikeable, although with Howard's arrival (his thuglike play against us the year KG was out was disgusting), that ramps up the dislikeability in Laker-land alot, but it's mitigated by Nash's arrival.
