Since were going all nostalgia, I am actually watching Celtics versus Cavaliers game seven 2008 as I type. Paul killing it, ray not so much making Posey look like an all star addition by subtraction..

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I hope this never happens.

I don't think it will. Adding Steve Nash doesn't make the Lakers better than the Thunder or even the Clippers for that matter. Westbrook and Chris Paul would exploit Nash's defensive limitations in the playoffs and have great supporting casts. Nevertheless, i'm interested to see wwho Celts fans would root for in the hypothetical situation.

Western conference (Right now)

1. Thunder
2. Clippers
3. Lakers
4. Spurs
5. Grizzlies
6. Nuggets
7. Blazers
8. T-Wolves

Lol Clippers second seed in the West? Absolutely no way. They ain't going no where with that bigman combo. Chris Paul, Nick Young and Caron Butler. Ugly.
Gotta be one of the most overrated wannabe all star teams in the NBA. They were lucky to get past the Grizzlies and Randolph on one leg.

Lakers will be tough this year. They'll get a solid veteran bench and if they can get Gasol going in their offense they'll be hard to beat. I think Grizzlies will be tough too with Zeebo + Gasol.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Bump.

I wonder if feelings have changed now that this has become the most likely finals matchup.

For those who voted Lakers I will blame you should the worse come to pass.

best case scenario....lbj blows his knee (or has another injury) that makes it so he doesn't play one second in the finals....and the heat win without lbj

Just my humble opinion here, but, any Celtics fan who would root for the Lakers in the Finals, regardless of circumstance, is not really a true Celtic fan at all.

BLASPHEMY!

It's hard to pick against the lakers. They already had the best starting lineup in the league and then they just added Howard. If Howard can resist being a knucklehead, take care of the defense anchor position and let Pau play the offensive 4 position then these guys are going to be deadly. Bench could be the lakers problem but that is an all star starting five right there.

West
1. Lakers
2. Thunder
3. Spurs
4. Grizzlies
5. Clippers
6. Nuggets
7. Mavs
8. Twolves

East
1. Heat
2. Celtics
3. Bulls
4. Knicks
5. Pacers
6. 76ers
7. Hawks
8. Nets

As soon as I take a tire iron to Lebron's knees, I'll definitely get back to hating the lakers.

This is a tough one.  If the question were which team I disliked more, I'd say the Heat (I actually dislike them much more than I do the Lakers right now), although I don't know that I'd root for the Lakers over them in a finals (I might, though).

One of those things that I wouldn't know until the games started (but I have a strong suspicion about who I'd want to lose... I think.)

Edit:  Okay, I'm not gonna split hairs here.  Since I dislike the Heat more than the Lakers, I'd root for them to lose.

No. I don't care who he is, now that he wears the ugliest color combination known to mankind -- purple and gold -- I sincerely hope he never wins anything. I don't know if I would have cared had he been on any other team to be honest, but I care now that he DOESN'T.

I would rather watch paint dry than a single minute of a Finals matchup consisting of these two teams.

How sweet it would be to knock off the Heat in the ECF and then the Lakers in the Finals. How 'bout the Knicks in the second round while I'm at it.
