Listen, I’m not talking about Ray right now. He’s no longer part of us,” said Rivers. “That’s my take, really. We talked about a lot of stuff, but really, I’m talking about our guys.”

If Doc sound (still) this p---ed off at Ray and his "decision," I can only imagine how KG and Paul (even Rondo) feels about it.

What Ray did was totally inexcusable.  It turns out all his "good guy" persona is nothing but a put-on.  He's as phony as they come and I've always had that feeling about the guy even though I appreciate his talent.

And I'm tired of the few fans he got left blaming Danny and Rondo for him leaving. Danny was doing his job to better the TEAM (something Ray forgot about).  EVERYONE on the team was on the trading block including the captain and his nemis Rondo. But they didn't whine about.  Hell, it was a fuel for Rondo.  All I got from his comments after the press conference is that he wanted everything to be about him.  Throwing that much money at him wasn't enough (money he clearly didn't deserve).  Proposition to add a "no trade" clause wasn't enough either.  He wanted KG's deal when he's the farthest thing from KG or how important KG is to the team.

Doc said KG could've asked for more money, that he deserve that much but KG wanted to help out the team.  That is a "consumate professional," (a nickname Ray don't deserve to bare), that is a team player.

In the end, it became all about Ray Allen and less about the team, the guys he went to war with.  Nothing will make my year than seeing the Celtics eliminate the Heat to advance in the playoffs and maybe even win it all.  Goodluck riding the bench on the Heat.  That should really make you feel wanted, Ray.  That's my piece on the whole thing.

Maybe all of us here should take a cue from Doc.  Let's stop talking about Walter Allen.  Doc is right, he is no longer part of us.

Let's move on please.

You want to try putting that quote in some type of context? Where's it from? What type of question was Doc answering?

Who is that is no longer a Celtic?

Is his first name Raymond?

Was he traded back to Seattle for a bag of SWA peanuts?

How is Kris Joseph and Dionte Christmas doing in SL?

Raymond Allen is not walking through that door?
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Amen! There are more threads about dude than there is our actual TEAM! Stop making threads, we get it (most agree with you though), please no more!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I don't think they gave any context.

Pretty self explanatory though. Rays press conference was yesterday they were probably asking him about that

I wouldn't read too much into that comment.  Doc has been bombarded with questions about it.  He was just stating the obvious.

Sorry, it's from BostonHerald.com.  Here's the whole article.

Quote
Ray Allen raised several issues with the Celtics following his introduction as the newest member of the Miami Heat on Wednesday.

This included what he considered to be a diminished role in Doc Rivers’ offensive scheme.

But the Celtics coach, watching the Cs’ summer league team play Detroit today in Orlando, didn’t want anything to do with his former guard’s issues.

“Listen, I’m not talking about Ray right now. He’s no longer part of us,” said Rivers. “That’s my take, really. We talked about a lot of stuff, but really, I’m talking about our guys.”

Allen said yesterday that he felt he was penalized by his reluctance to complain over the last five years.

“Sometimes it’s my own fault. Sometimes you have to step out and clear your own path and let it be known a little more,” he said following the press conference. “But I acquiesced so much, that at some point they said Ray will be alright. He’ll get his touches, or he’ll figure it out, we don’t have to worry about him, and at some point it was to my own detriment because at some point I didn’t create enough of a wave to let them know you have to speak for yourself.”

I've moved on, but these threads don't bother me. They are easy to avoid if you don't care to see people call out the wolf in sheep's clothing. Even though the subject line didn't mention Judas, it's a good chance it wasn't about Scalabrine.

Oh Ray, sigh...  So you had to take a backseat first to KG and Pierce, then Rondo as far as getting touches.  So your solution to this "problem" is to go play with Lebron, Wade and Bosh?  Good luck with that, I can already imagine all the plays Spoelstra is drawing up for you.

Yea his move just doesn't make sense for so many of his complaints. Aside from going to our biggest rivals in the conference and our biggest threat for getting to the finals, his role just seems weird. I know it is getting beat to death but I'll keep saying I hate Ray now on every one of these threads. Also would buy a judas allen shirt. I had one for Damon a few years ago.
