Just finished watching the Celtics' third summer league game and I can't be happier about our young guys.. Etwaun 's pretty steady at the point... Jajuan's coming along... Kris Joseph's proving he's a keeper... Melo can pass! Sean Williams, well, he still sucks... But the biggest news is of course Jared SUllinger! A lot of things have been said about his size and back issues but to me, we really got the steal of the draft! He's not flashy, not dominant, but he just consistently works... And he's a winner! Can't wait till the season starts!

I'm still inclined to keep Williams over Hollins though.

Sullinger has a really solid post game. Nice touch as well. How many and 1s did he have in there??? :)
Nice passing by melo as well, the fact that he did those kind of passes more than once shows you that it wasnt a fluke and thats good.

One things for sure though, Moore is NOT a PG. he seems alot more confident scoring the ball than dribbling and passing it.

Id take anybody over that scrub Hollins. Only reason he is in the league is because hes 7 feet tall. I dont get that, is the league so desperate for big guys that they have to draft guys like hollins?
Thats why its gotta suck to be a short ball player. If your kinda short you have to be SOOOOOO much better to get a shot at the nba.

I agree, that Sullinger could be a real steal, but Im still more impressed with Moore.  Regardless of how well he played in summer league, sully would probably get some court time next season.  Moore on the other hand is playing to stay in the league.

After a poor shooting performance in his 1st game (where he still scored 16 points), Moore has consistently improved, and been leading the teams offense.  Even though hes been forced to play out of position at PG, he's still playing in control, and not turning the ball over.

Im really looking forward to watching sullinger play with KG tho.  I think they could be a great inside/out combination.

Give the chips to Ryan; he could stand a little fattening up.

I could live with neither Williams nor Hollins on next years' roster.  Williams has been around too long to still be a knucklehead; he's not a project anymore.  Hollins, the same; he's a poor man's Mikki Moore, and Mikki ain't too rich himself (OK, FIGURATIVELY; literally, he was one of the most massively overpaid players of all time).  You like Hollins because he always looks like he's playing his heart out, but he's never DOING anything all that productive.

I'd rather we pick up one of the bulky seven footers that's available at the vet min (a guy like Diop could give us an occasional 10 minutes), play Sully at the 5, and hope that Melo can develop into playing at least a LITTLE by the end of the year.  Melo can't be much worse than Williams/Hollins.  KG's playing most of the minutes at the 5, anyway.

Neither one is a basketball player. Hollins a little better defensively.

Sully taught me the lesson that you can't judge a book by its cover. Everything about him screamed Big Baby Davis with longer arms. But i was wrong. He is the antithesis of big baby. Sully is Mature for one. He is more polished player. And last but not least, he knows how to play the game. Certain guys just get it. Sully is one of those guys.

Sully..had a few bad moments... what impresses though , he doesn't get rattled .  He never seems in big hurry .  He reamins calm and plays though the screwup like a 28 year old , instead of 20 year old.  He is about 5 years ahead of most guys maturity wise.

Sully methodically works his opponent over , bumping and grinding it out to get postion for his shot.  He looks like a young Wes Unsel or Carl Malone.  Somehow the ball finds its way to the rim and in.  And its hard for the taller guys not to get a goal tending call .

Sully know how to get his body set and postioned and put  shot up and over the taller fellows. Thats old school , Dave Cowans beat .bang , get postion .

I LIKE IT !!

Something Baby Davis wants to do , but is too short of height and reach .

Agreed with what people are saying about Sully, I like how he faces up and reads the situation and then makes a move in no hurry. He asses whether to take the jumper if the D is off, pass if someone is open or making a cut, or go into the defender for the post move if it's open. It's something Big Baby would never do.  It's KG-like.

He will benefit a lot playing with our vets too because they have this same approach and space the floor well.  Right now it's kind of a mess for him because there is no PG, the other big does't space the floor, and everyone else kind of just runs around all crazy.  Playing with KG in particular he will have a lot more room to operate with in the paint as KG drags bigs out with his jumper.

Good for comic relief, but not really true.

I, in particular, like him because he's big, mobile, and will play help defense. I do particularly dislike the moments when he tries to "play his heart out", because this usually ends up looking like a windmill that's gone out of control.

Three key things he improves and 10 other teams will be sorry skipping on him. 1. Vs guys with length not to spin to the middle to prevent getting blocked 2. Incorporate 15 ft jumpers more 3. Lose 10-12 pounds. He is going to be a solid player in the league

So far Sullinger appears to be able to offer more than Davis/Powe could in their 1st 2 seasons.

He is so polished (skills, maturity) & strong. I can't wait to see what he does against NBA bench level players.  ;D
