to put that into perspective, big baby's career high "rebounds in a game" was 11 until 2011. he beat big baby's 3.5 year career rebound record in his 2nd summer league game.

in the first summer league game, sully scored 20 pts. avery bradley's rookie season high "points in a game" was 20 pts and it happened in the  82nd game of the season against the knicks. Sullys first career pro game tied avery's last rookie regular season record high points in a game.

20 pts one game, 12 rebounds the next. im thinking he combines them tomorrow haha...

nah but in all honesty ive been trying to tell ppl the big baby sully comparisons are awful for a long time...

their one similarity is a lack of athleticism...

Differences:

Sully- better rebounder, better passer, better post game, better shooter/more range, way higher bball iq... wait look at that i guess hes just a better player with a way higher ceiling.

Unlike Baby, Sully has the bball iq to make up for a lack of athleticism

There are some NBA teams that are as good as their summer league squads

If his back holds up and his health he is a Steal.  Knowing Bass' defensive and rebounding issues not only will/could sully make jjj trade fodder but maybe Brandon be moved as well.   I like the idea of sully and green on the low post.  We havent had much low post presence in a bit

Sully made a couple nice plays, passes, tips to teammates, block outs and handling the ball nice for a big. Did I mention taking a charge... he is mature enough NOT to play hero ball, and did all the small things to help his team come back.  He played decent Defense too.

Sully is USEFUL everytime down court ..watch him doesn't stand around so much , but moves toward the action , he moves involves himself as the play develops and doesn't stand around watching .

This suttle movement as he follows the play is like Larry Bird like or Kevin Love.  Instinctive moving WITHOUT the ball.

This is a rare trait , some teams have nobody that plays like this. Pierce and Rondo show this basketball nose.

Duncan and Ginobili have this inate abilitiy.

Not even close. That's ridiculous to even say I'm sorry. Sully has performed well but let's wait until he gets into some real action until we talk about him like he's the next great power forward. I won't lie I've seen similarities to Elton Brand/Love/Boozer/etc. That doesn't mean he's going to put it together immediately.

Also, I don't care what his stats are the kid could go 0/10 and commit six fouls, his talent was never in question. These games only confirm his skill. What I'm really looking to see is 1) is he losing weight? 2) is he healthy? So far I've seen enough evidence to answer yes to both questions and even if he has a terrible game tomorrow, as long as he looks healthy then the summer league has been a success so far.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks = Glen Davis' best summer league game.

Glen Davis had some very good games in summer league.

This can't be serious.

Also lol @ suggesting Summer League games are equivalent to NBA games.  Half the players in the D-leagues will never see the inside of an NBA lockerroom, let alone get time on the court in an NBA game, let alone play significant minutes in the NBA.   We're talking the top 10% of the competition he is playing against MIGHT get floor time in the NBA.

If Davis spent his career in the Summer Leagues, he would average 30-12 for his career.

I knew he would struggle at times getting off his shot.  I fully expected that and he got swatted today once bad.   His passing and rebounding have been more than decent.   He has good hands and knows the game.

For the record, as others have noted, Glen Davis had 19-14-6 in a Summer League game (his 2nd or 3rd).

Rajon Rondo was awful in the 2007 Summer League (his second year, I believe).  Gabe Pruitt replaced him and was great.

It's fun to get excited over rookies, but let's not put all that much stock into these results.

These stat comparisons to real games mean less than nothing.

Here's a fun quote from Adam Morrison's rookie year:
Quote
The Bulls took the lead late in Tuesday's contest versus Charlotte on a fade away bucket by Thabo Sefolosha with 3.1 seconds left, but a last-second tip-in and Adam Morrison's 29 points propelled the Bobcats past the Bulls, 88-87.

Summer league games are not NBA caliber games, but they higher than NCAa games and equivalent to d league games. Its worth something. So if you do well , you could at least be a decent role player in the NBA in theory. Sully has looked good so far. He needs to get in better condition and scout his opponents better. Needs also include a 15 footer instead of either jacking up 3s or
 operating on the post.

Yeah isn't Morrison a SL all-star every year?
