agree...never thought Allen (will never refer to him as 'Ray" again) would be an "if you can't beat'em join'em" kinda guy

Hahaha TP for you.

Nothing like a 'Can we please move on from Ray?' thread to really move on from Ray.

it's over with now and it honestly is probably a good thing. no more ray trade fiascos or any of that. lets focus on our team now and forget about ray allen. the day he left i said he was dead to me and i think it would be best for us to all think like that. whether you wish him best or not. the only thing i care about with ray now is if he publicly comes out and says why, until then lets forget about the guy

I think "move on" comments are almost always self-contradictory.  If you want to move on, then why'd you bring it up?  It's like saying, "let's not talk about an elephant."  It's like, why, what's up with elephants?

But you've done worse than that.  You didn't say, "let's move on, what do you guys think about Kris Joseph?" or something.  You actually made five or six comments about Ray Allen, in your post about why no one else should talk about Ray Allen!

I think what you were trying to say was, "everyone just agree with me so we can move on".  But we don't all agree with you, that's the only problem.

I think everyone has "moved on" in every meaningful way.  It's not like people aren't talking about lots of other new, old, and potential Celtics.  It's not like talking about Ray has stopped us in any way.

It's just still an interesting topic.

Personally, one reason it's interesting to me is because of Danny Ainge's role.  Nothing can be done about the past, but I hope he learns from this.  He didn't just dangle Ray, he involved Rondo in many trade rumors.  Apparently he was even ready to send Paul to NJ for flotsam and a very low-percentage chance to get Anthony Davis.

Danny's very good at evaluating talent and figuring out deals, but this is just not the way to run a team.  There's a reason Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili have stated their allegiance to the Spurs far stronger than I've ever heard Pierce or Rondo (or anyone else) state theirs to the Celtics.

We'll keep hearing about Walter Ray for a long time, but it's all good to me. People need to bring him, no problem.

And yes, if he struggles a bit in South Beach, the "bring back Ray" threads will grow here like mushrooms, just like when Posey went to the Hornets.

It's a sad story, but it's over. Good Riddance.

I think you're tripping all over your arguments here.  To start, watch this video and it's pretty clear that Ray blabbed to Tanguay on this directly:

http://www.csnne.com/pages/celticsvideo?PID=uvXM2-T9GoUJtXid5zLWmDxB37V_gfpqFgRZtX

(Borges is as always tough to take because of his stupidity and meanness, though it's hard to see exactly which is dominant in this clip.)  There's even the reminder, to boot, that Ray's BFF Donny Marshall works with Tanguay too.

Meanwhile, it is of course Danny's job to improve the C's via trade when he can.  26yo Rondo appears to have dealt with it better than old man Allen.  But Rondo's personality played into Ray's decision as well, in which case, what are you doing trashing Danny's attempts to trade Rondo when (and only when) a good deal (Chris Paul) was available?
