Danny will be mailing some thank you notes to those GMs and the medical specialists who red-flagged Jared - just wait.

Envelopes are ready...stamps in place. Danny will be making a trip to the mailbox next season.

I'm trying my best to temper my enthusiasm for the guy, but BOS's due to have a rookie Big (or two - MELO, u ready?) give us major help this season.

But I am glad to see the kid is a player. He has some nice promise to say the least.

these are college and summer league games that is true, wait until he actually plays in a more structured offense with an all-star point guard and two future hall of fame teammates to draw attention away from him. I am excited that we finally have legitimate bigs to throw out there. Not great bigs, not even good bigs, but legitimate bigs. We have not had this in a long time.

All of a sudden I am not giving up the inside game to the Lakers anymore.

Remember when Bynum was taken out of high school by the Lakers? No one kknew he would be a stud until he got in Shaq's face the first game he played against Shaq. This was first put off as youthful exuberance, but no one is saying that two rings later.

Well the thing that impressed me most was that he hit foul shots.  I don't think any of his 7 free throws touched the rim.  That means he can play at crunch time in games and with his good post moves and big body he should be shooting a lot of free throws.

Secondly, he has a decent handle for a 6-9 guy.  He made a good spin move after a between the legs dribble for a three point play today.  He should be able to get to the rack against bigger guys who will have to come out to contest him because he can knock down an outside shot.

Good pick; but nothing he did screamed top 10. He is out of shape and not a great athlete by any measure. He is just a Baller that does not fit the Lebron, D Wade, Kobe, Dwight mold.

Even if his back is OK (which I doubt) his conditioning is pretty bad for someone who is a coaches son and knew he would be playing professional ball. No way I take him top 10 in this draft. 15th might have been a reach. But good pickup in the 20's.

I'm one of his biggest fans but..

It was ONE SUMMER LEAGUE game.

people keep saying "durr 1 summer league game"

yea in 1 summer league game, sully already tied avery bradley's rookie season high of points in a game. (which he got in the last game of the season against the knicks)

sullys 1st rookie game = averys last rookie game (almost)

getting sully at 21 is highway robbery. he deserved to be in the lottery. theres nothing wrong with the guy, all the GMs had greg oden on their mind when sullys name came up, thats why they didnt roll the dice.

Christmas ought to have been drafted last year. Nothing he's done since suggests otherwise.

Forgot about those two dunking on one another and Shaq throwing that elbow.

Link below, it's pretty awesome.

But I am glad to see the kid is a player. He has some nice promise to say the least.

From what I've seen I fully expect him to understand the schemes.  But of course we've still got to see the commitment to defense and conditioning to anoint him as an official steal.

But we aren't basing this off of one summer league game.  This guy was a 2-time All American at OSU his freshman and sophomore years.

He was a projected top-5 pick before going back to school.

He lead his team to the Final Four.  He's 20 years old.

To the OP: I can understand why teams in the top 10 passed on him.  He tested horribly at the combine in the athleticism drills, then he got red flagged for his back.  GMs look at that and see an overweight guy who will be fighting lower back  issues his whole life (because many of them have the same problems.)  You can't use a top-10 pick on someone with those kind of problems in the post-Greg Oden era of the NBA lottery.

I can see why some of the teams in the 10-15 range passed on him too, if they had needs that were better fit by some of the guys there.  But for the teams after 15 it makes no sense.  How does Daryl Morey not snap up this guy with 3 picks between 12 and 18?

Anyways...good for us.
