Having already come to terms on deals with their own free agents (Kevin Garnett and Brandon Bass) as well as contracts for Jason Terry and most recently Jeff Green, the C's don't' have the salary cap space needed to sign Lee.

Instead, the Celtics would most likely have to acquire him via sign-and-trade which is something the Rockets have indicated they are open to doing.

In addition to Lee, the C's are also keeping an eye on Mickael Pietrus, C.J. Miles of Utah and former Celtic Gerald Green as possible additions.

All of the aforementioned players constitute a small pool of talent that a number of teams are focusing their attention on, a grouping that includes the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls and the Atlanta Hawks.

Great news that Houston is open to doing a s+t ,Lee is the #1 target now

Lee
Pietrus
Green
Miles

would be my order of preference , but sounds like Green is going to Chi

Blakely may as well be some random guy on twitter named BigBoi63, for all the credibility he has.

We of course have interest in Pietrus.  We'll see if a legitimate source reports the other two.

Seems how they aren't having Camby back either, and as mentioned on the front page are willing to move him as well, we should see if we can acquire both from Houston. With Stiemsma about to head off to the green pastures of Minny, it'd be nice to, you know, have an actual center start for us.

S&T for both Lee and Camby is going to cost a lot. The C's will feel the pain if they do it. Might be a matter of biting the bullet, though.

I'd rather just have Lee and use the BAE on Wilcox.

hmmm, I wonder if Blakley is just re-reporting the tweet that Amico posted last night regarding OJ Mayo

Looks like Celtics are interested in every free agents, lol. But all teams are interested in all free agents, right?
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Blakely practically lives with the Team during the season. You would assume he can get a scoop or two. But he never does. He is least credible reporter covering the Celtics.

Has he ever nailed any rumor or trade before it happened? I honestly can't think of any pretty sad really.

Slightly off-topic, but now people don't even trust Blakely? Can someone explain where that came from? I mean, I'd hope we kicked the tires on some wings if Bradley really will be out until December....

Only way I see us getting BOTH Lee and Camby is by sending Bass(7),JJJ(1.5) and picks

Then Lee gets his 6mil per year upgrade,Camby and 2.5 and our team is solidified by using the remaining cap space on Krstic.
Later to be used as trade bait before the deadline

Rondo,Lee,Pierce,KG,Camby
Jet,Bradley,Green,Sully,Melo
Dooling,Pietrus,Krstic,Wilcox, Free agent.
Can't stop, Rondo!

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
Dude's just tossing out names of players that'd be a good fit on the C's. That's all he does. It's 100% speculation.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.
