Its weird..but in a way...He'll be getting 9 million...for being the 7th man...

Makes you wonder what Ray was thinking cause he'd essentially would have been the 8th man here had he resigned as well.

Jason Terry is the quintessential 6th man.

I still see Bradley starting and dont see Pierce moving to Shooting Guard.

What kind of #s should Jeff put up this year to at least justify the money he makes.

Sidenote: I think this was a forward thinking (no pun intended) deal because Danny knows Pierce cant play forever and maybe Pierce will be the backup one day.

Here is my expectation...

12pts 5bds 1stl, good defense

Those are the kind of numbers Jeff MUST put up imo. JT will be the high scoring guy off the bench. But I want Jeff to provide scoring and versatility.

to justify his contract, i am expecting him to regularly hit corner 3's, play great D (though not necessarily D that leads to steals or blocks), work to facilitate and stabilize an offense in the 2nd unit (though not necessarily leading to assists), and to exploit low post matchups if there's one to be had and convert at a high and efficient clip.

oh, and i expect him to be the one defending Lebron when we play the Heat.

Not sure "6th" and "7th" mean anything for 2 guys who play different positions and can both end up with the same minutes.

Gah.  Green is not a good three point shooter.  Some guys will never be good three point shooters no matter how much they practice.  Hopefully, as Doc has to rework the offense in the absence of Ray, the idea that Green should be shooting threes is something that will be removed from the playbook.

15 and 8, I really expect him to take alot of Pierce's minutes to give him rest.

There's no designation of 6th man or 7th man or 8th man. If Bass comes out of a game they won't put in Terry because he's 6th man and Green's 7th. How much one of them plays will be fairly unrelated to the other.

I might be wrong, but I think he starts. Jeff Green will be our Luol Deng, jack of all trades. Cover other team's best scorer, and score in a multitude of ways.

4points in transition, 4points post up, one 3 pointer, 3 free throws, and 2points mid-j.

16ppg/6rpg

Easy.

He's going to put up the exact same numbers he's been putting up his entire career. The guy hasn't really improved since he's entered the league.

For the money hes making he better at least be putting up 15points a game for us off the bench.

Seeing that Green will get the bulk of the minutes behind Pierce at the SF position and a few minutes behind Bass at PF, it wouldn't surprise me to see Green put up 14pts, 7reb per game.

We very well could have 2 6th Man of the Year candidates in Green and Terry.

Easy.

He's going to put up the exact same numbers he's been putting up his entire career. The guy hasn't really improved since he's entered the league.

He has never played with anyone who is close to the play maker Rondo is.  If Green and Rondo develop chemistry and Green runs the court he is going to get more easy baskets and good looks then he ever did playing with Westbrook and Durant.  That's a given IMO.  If Rondo can make Wilcox look good he can do even more with a guy as skilled as  Green is.

With the way this team shares the ball and how it effectively attacks mismatches I''l be happy with Green as long as he is aggressive and active.  If he does those things the numbers will come.

I'll go with 14 and 5/6. He and Bass will put up similar numbers I think.
