No, it doesn't. You forgot to add the draft pick salaries, bringing us up to around $67.4, which means we have less than 7 million to spend, assuming Stiemsma is not coming back.

Leaves us with roughly $9 million to spend in limited fashion:

Our guys on the roster last year and the BAE?

We practically have non-Bird exception (I think it's a 120% raise for non-qualifying free-agents), BAE, and vet minimum and Krstic's and Dooling's Bird rights.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I would throw it all at Krstic and hope that he comes along.
How much can we throw at Krstic without it affecting the cap? We don't have any special rights on him do we so it's gotta be the whole lot at him and Pietrus.
6 for Ksrtic and 1.5 to Pietrus and we are done.
Extra depth on wings and in paint.
Can't think of anything better right now- unless it's OJ Mayo and a cheaper big body.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

If it's a one year deal, I'd throw him plenty. If it's 2 years, I'd forget about it so that it keeps us in game to try and get full MLE next year.

The way I see it, we need to sign a third-string PG, backup SG, and backup C.

My guess would be these positions would be staffed by Dooling, Pietrus and one of Stiemsma/Hollins/Krstic. Of course, Ainge may still pull a rabbit out of a hat, but we don't have too much to work with there.

Wouldn't Terry be @ $5 mil?  Where's the $5.2 figure coming from.

Also, I'd imagine the new free agent signings are escalating - the C's do this with most of their deals.  I'd expect KG and Bass to be around $10 and $6 in their first years.

So yes, I would expect the wiggle room to be about $9 mil, though not the way the contracts are laid out in the OP.

I'm going to predict that money ends up being divvied up with the BAE going to Pietrus, Moore being waived and contracts of $2 mil and $5.5 going to Dooling and Krstic respectively.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Will need to see the terms of the contracts for the FAs and the rookies. Rookies can be signed for up to 120% of rookie scale contracts.

Probably a good ballpark estimate, but if Ainge is playing it fine, knowing the exact amount available to spend will be crucial.

You don't think Terry, Bradley and Dooling or Moore are enough for the PG backup?

I love the buzz about Courtney Lee and wonder whom they might S&T for him.

Keep in mind that the salaries for KG, Green, Bass, etc., etc. are estimates, and are based on the average annual value.  It's likely that the salaries will be lower in their first year and will escalate over time.

Good catch.

I was just about to post the same.

I actually have slightly diff #'s

KG-10.542
Bass-6.224
Sully-1.307
Melo-1.254
Terry-5.0

Green I have no idea, I've heard his contract might actually be a straight across the board deal, which would be odd.

Also keep in mind Moore and Williams deals are non-guaranteed making them perfect fodder for a sign and trade player coming in, like Courtney Lee.
