"Jason Terry says Heat a big Possibility, Mavs disrespecting by clearing cap for free agents"

"No question, they need a veteran shooter, a guy who can score besides LeBron (James) and (Dwyane Wade), and they know they can count on. I'm a guy that's been in this league 13 years, (averaging) 15 points a night, easy. Off the bench or the starting lineup, it doesn't matter. So I think I'd be an asset to them."

-------------------------------------------------------------

"They didn't even lowball me," Terry said. "They didn't want to bring anybody back from last year… (Team officials said they're) clearing the cap as low and we can and this summer we're going after Dwight Howard, which hasn't happened, and Deron Williams, which they still have an opportunity."

LOL, actually the exact opposite. Dallas didn't offer him a contract. He actually waited for Dallas to match the contract for him to return, and they didn't. Sorry. Try again.

You've tried 4 or 5 threads, and have swung and miss each and every time.

He was unwanted.

So he left for Boston.

It is not like he took less money to play for the Lakers.

How does that make him a traitor. They did not offer him any money. He also went back to Dallas after he got the offer from the Cs. This is not the same as he who shall not be named.

No problem taking less money to join the team that beat him the last two years.

But he signed with us after his team didn't want him. Two totally different scenarios.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

His first choice was to go back to the Mavs. If Ray had come to Danny and said "match the Heat's offer and I'll stay" he wouldn't be getting anywhere near the grief he is. He decided to make sure everyone knew he was thumbing his nose at the Celts, he has to live with whatever that does to his legacy with the team and its fans.

This polar opposite, not even close. Terry went to Dallas to see if they would match. He gave them the last say in this.

He does he become a traitor when his own team didn't even offer him a sheet?

Most of u have a problem with Ray joining the HEAT

not that he signed with another team

Terry yes situation was different.

But you dont think MAVS fans would be mad that he joined the Heat?

Really the exact opposite.

Terry wanted to stay with the Mavs, the Mavs are not interested, he joined the Celtics, which is not a rival.

The other guy was offered more money, was recruited by old teammates and yet chose to sign to the team that his previous team despise, for less money and a lesser role, all because, according to reports, he wasn't getting enough attention. Heck screw the reasons why he bolted, HE JOINED THE ENEMY. Benedict Arnold stuff.

That's the difference.

Anyone else a bit confused how anyone can think Terry- a guy who wanted to play in Dallas, gave the Mavs the opportunity to match, and was disregarded because the Mavs wanted to save cap room, is any way shape or form a traitor?

Terry wanted to stay there and would have if the Mavs say they were completely uninterested.  Ray on the other hand took less money to play for the enemy.
