Trust me, this will all come back to haunt RA. It's busness? Really? Then why so personal with all this Rondo hate? Isn't it Doc who sat him for all the right reasons? Who here would have taken Bradley out of the lineup for a injured RA? There will be, or not, hugs in May next year, and I for one will be real hapopy when he's on the losing end to the C's. I can't wait. Let's Go Celtics!

FYI Jason Terry (born September 15, 1977 in Seattle, Washington) was obtained by the Dallas Mavericks along with Alan Henderson and a future first round draft pick from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Antoine Walker and Tony Delk on August 4, 2004.

Remember them?

I wish there was, but if karma existed in the NBA Lebron would of lost every game for the rest of his career after the decision.

Maybe Ray signing in Miami is related to the karma of repeatedly almost trading him?  I guess it all depends on whose point of view you're taking.

Does he have a kicker or some sort of trade security with the Heat? Cause if he doesn't they'll trade him to Minnesota in a heartbeat if they think it will help them.

Yeah, that's how it works.  Similarly, when Ray is a free agent again, he'll be free and clear to sign with the franchise that he finds to be personally most advantageous.

Teams do what's best for them, and players do likewise for themselves.  I'm surprised that people feel differently, as if loyalty is a one-way street.  Ironically, some of the same people who posted about how the team should trade Ray are now attacking him for leaving.

An aside, but doesn't it seem that almost every Celts transaction for the last umpteen years is only 1-2 degrees seperated from Antoine?

Or, maybe trading him would´ve been the smartest long-term move this team could´ve made, to ensure we get anything in return.

Hindsight is 20/20, I guess.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Exactly. If he does not get the being traded is part of business by now then I don't know what to say. He is not the first player ever to be on the trading block. Rondo has been there and still stayed. Not a good excuse imo. esp after the Celtic's had offered him the most money to come back. I think that Celtic's by doing that obviously made it clear they wanted him back.

Yeah, that's how it works.  Similarly, when Ray is a free agent again, he'll be free and clear to sign with the franchise that he finds to be personally most advantageous.

your last point is what irks me.  Not a big fan of one-way loyalty from fans.

Well of course. When you play like crud and you get a great offer and then you leave anyway because...sniffle sniffle....Rondo said something mean or you ...sniffle sniffle...lost playing time to someone playing a lot better than you, then yeah. At that point you've been shown more loyalty than you deserve, and now that you're going to a team that won't show you any more loyalty than this one, then yeah. You get attacked by fans. Definitely. If he got some sort of trade exemption from Miami it would make some sense, but if he didn't then it either has nothing to do with maybe being traded or he's just full of it.

I'm looking at it from a business aspect which seems business would chose more more money and play for a growing legacy which has very real value. If he had left for a better deal, even with Miami, I'd say good for him and shame on the Cs. But instead, as the poster noted above, it turned into a personal issue, so it becomes personal.

its not THAT ray left, its HOW he left and WHERE he left too...

had ray gone to the clippers for 3years/15million for a starting role and maybe let the C's do a sign and trade to get something in return I think most fans here would say "good for you ray"

instead he strung along doc/ainge demanding rediculous 3years/27million$ contract and then at the last minute bounces to the celtics #1 rival for just 3years/9million$

So you're mad at Ray because he went to best chance to win instead of taking the most money?

He's not a Celtic for life. If he's going to be fourth banana - he'd rather be fourth banana for a championship team and know he can plan out the last three years of his career around it.

Roy you pre-empted my thoughts. If its about loyalty, then let it be a 2-way from Danny(Celtics Org) and Ray. Why chide Ray for leaving when Danny traded him for O.J Mayo at the trade deadline and no one cares? Basketball is a business first. Lets wish the man and his family well on the last chapter of his career and appreciate what he gave us.
