Total guess but $27m over 3 years.

Ok Paul isn't going to guard sg's well but they aren't going to guard him very well either. I can see Paul and Jeff playing wing at the same time...at times...but not a lot.

Paul can guard SGs just fine. Sure there'll be some he'll have trouble with, but it's not a big concern. On the other hand, he'll destroy most SGs in the post or penetrating with strength or shooting over them from his sweet spot.

I'm not worried about having to play Pierce SG in any fashion.

I 'm guessing 32M over 4 years .

Paul plays so much better when is rested decent. Paul really struggles in the back to backs.  Hopefully Green can cut a big xhunk of Pauls minutes out. So Paul can bring  something to every game and not be worn slap out.

I'm looking forward to and expecting a much improved Green. I think he has been hanging around and now up to speed on his defensive assignments , and feel for his role in the team.  I think feeling out his role was his biggest hangup.... where does Jeff belong .....took LeBrick forever to find his place...I believe Jeff will make his place on the roster.   Thats the nice thing about Bass , I guess, he isn't complex , he knows what his limits are and plays within them.  Green has a much higher ceiling and needs to let go and  play his game.

Like to see Wilcox and Pietrus join Bass/ Green on the Celtics for another run .  These four guys are all good steady players.

Why are people so stuck up on the number (unknown)? Same per year as Judas received last 2 years. Green is 11yrs younger. He is Bigger, Stronger, and Faster than Judas. All it means now Green probably starts now. Pencil him in 14-17ppg 6rpg.

Too bad this is basketball, and not a track meet. Ray was and still is a better basketball player than Green. Secondly, even if you thought Ray's contract was crap, signing one bad contract isn't a reason to go out and sign another bad contract.

Paying this guy anything over 5 mil per year is just a pointless waste of cap space. We'll be regretting this contract, mark my words.

I don't know about Ray being better than Green. At this point in Rays career he is a glorified role player. All he can do is shoot(at a very high level), but that's it.

I really believe if healthy Green can have a break out season next year.

Marked.

Ray is going from offense where ball is shared equally, to Ballhog system. Miami Heat role players are an aftertaught in that system. The NBA finals was an aberration for the Heat.

I don't make guarantees. But It's not a far fetched to say Ray is going to struggle in Miami; meanwhile, Green could have a career year because of the system.

Yea. Ray better get use to having games where he only shoots 4-5 times. While Green is going to be given plenty of time to make an impact.

you don't come off the bench if you make $10M.
Manu Ginobili and Lamar Odom came off the bench for years making $10 million a year.

On a loaded team like Boston, we can have a $10 million a year bench player.

He might play as much as KG next season so yes, it is not the time on the court but the production we should care about.

What is this fabulous cap space you speak of?

Does Wyc cut a check to all Celtics fans for the difference if Green signs for less?  If not, I don't get all the outrage.

He'll have to suck pretty bad for a $10 million a year contract to be unmovable.  That's chump change in today's NBA.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

His condition combined with his last contract makes this proposed deal ludicrous. I take vested interest in how Celtics spend because we are essentially dealing with a hard cap going forward. From what I understand, if we stay under the LT the big MLE will be available to us next year too. That's a major tool that can help feed this team more talent if not hindered by an above market contract like the one being suggested.

We have Ray's money now so it won't matter. In fact, I think we have to spend Ray's money in order to even have the MLE for Terry... the only people we can spend it on are Krystic, Bass, Green, or KG... I look for someone to get overpaid or paid more just to get us to the correct amount.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
