I don't blame Ray for leaving because, simply,
his work here was done.  He knew it, the team knew it,
and a whole lot of fans knew it.

The Avery Bradley era has begun.....and Jason Terry is younger too.
Ray was headed for towel waving if he'd stayed.

And I wish he had stayed and waved the towel and cemented his legacy,
but he still wants to play.

Be mad that he went to Miami, yes indeed...but get over it eventually and
put that energy into loving newer and younger Celtics.  I'm excited to see this team
be more athletic for more minutes per game....

well said... leaving we could take....just not to the HEAT  and now help our arch rival beat us.   That is so low down...for less money and possibly less playing time. ???

called ring chasing...

Yes.  That part does stink.  But were any other legitimate title contenders asking for his services?  And a clearly defined role with guaranteed minutes?

Ray may win another title but this is what he sacrificed...

he could have retired with the similar legacy to Dennis Johnson...a Celtic great.

Now he's the next Gary Payton, a great player who bounced around for the next best opportunity.

I really love and respect Ray and don't judge his decision...BUT, this is what he left on the table when he decided to leave the Celtic franchise.

I don't agree with this at all.  If he went to the Clippers, this would be a fitting post.  He'd be the starting SG there.

But what is his role in Miami.  Is Wade going to run point?  Is Wade going to slide to the 3, with LeBron to the 4, and Bosh to the 5?

I don't know what Ray deluded himself into, but I think he'll have less of a role in Miami than he'd have here.

It's not that he left the Celtics. It where he joined. He burned his bridge joining to Miami and lost a lot of fans' respect. It would be a different if he wen somewhere else. Anywhere else other than Miami or Lakers (I bet even if he joined Lakers it wouldn't be this hard to take).

It's looking like he only joined Miami out of frustration on what helped with the trade rumors and benching. Clearly he can get better stuff in Boston or anywhere else but he joined a team where he won't play as much even though he said he wants PT and giving him less money.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I agree with all of your points. But, regardless of where he went he sacrificed his legacy by leaving the Celtics franchise.

Bandwagon jumping in Miami just magnifies that.

I thought the Clippers cancelled on him, signed Billups and signed another SG too....

he's not playing more in miami. his role will be less, unless they do crazy lineups where wade plays the 1. he took a lot less money and a smaller role to play with the bad guys. that tells you he didn't want to be here...which is his right. but it is also our right as fans to boo him nonstop.

They signed Crawford instead under it's better to have a bird in hand than wait on Ray.
