Man, it stings more than you guys even understand. It really and truly does, but I can't boo Ray. I will never boo ray. I hoped he would stay for KG, Pierce and Doc, and while I hoped that Ray would look past how Danny Ainge has treated him the past couple seasons, especially last season, when he attempted to trade him to Memphis for O.J. Mayo, can you really Blame Ray for feeling that he just wasn't appreciated enough by the head office in Boston?

I'll always want to see Allen succeed, but this doesn't mean I'll suddenly stop rooting for the Celtics to succeeds as well. When the Heat and the Celts play eachother, I'll just watch as a neutral fan, but I'll want Ray to win as much as possible, to prove his worth and value as much as possible for people who didn't fully appreciate what he brought to the Celtics, and all the things he did for the team. Ray was a professional and was loyal for years to the Celtics. The head office wasn't loyal to him. It's only when there's a threat that Ray Allen ends up on the Heat, and is wanted so badly by other contenders, that Ainge decided it was time to give Ray the respect he deserves.

Ainge was fighting for Allen as a free agent, but he wasn't fighting for him when he had him. I'm p---ed, but I'm not mad at Ray.

I'm with you.  Feel the same way.
Yup

Watch, Bynum to Orlando...then DIRK to Orlando too.

Danny screwed up this offseason and look what happens...we cannot beat the Heat, Lakers, Spurs, Bulls, or Thunder so what the hell was the point Danny? Selling tickets?

just stop

boston was 8 minutes with no bench and a beat up team from beating the heat. they are MUCH better this year with AB back, green, wilcox, sully, melo, healthy PP

Bulls won't have rose for a long time
lakers have no coach and hero baller bryant

boston is right there

The Lakers have Nash and are getting Dwight...

Bulls were doing okay without Rose and will get him back in the 2nd half

Spurs/Thunder/Heat are all miles above us

From what I recall, "losing" Ray was one of the factors that got us in the playoffs, this year, in the first place...At one point we were 10-1 without him.

I don't see the relation between losing Ray and our playoffs chances being hurt like some people are claiming here. I think so far we are improved from last season.

Jarret Jack spot on.  Even players see it Ray Allen.

There was never a time in this process where I felt Danny really made Ray feel appreciated.

I thought there was a lack of effort from the front office to keep Ray around and I am disappointed by that.

  • You say when......
We, Ray was great while he was here....he either did his job or tried to..I think he will find life different in miami........if he shot that way last year in miami, and played such lax defense, he would have been benched...even miller played little until he hit 3's....Ray is 37..and having a hard time dealing with it.......he will also come off the bench in miami...and his dealings with rondo...how could WE know.....but you cannot keep passing to a guy who just shoots and misses..Ray needs to realize he contributes not much else at this point......Bradley showed the other element....of youth and speed, defense and layups...and shooting too....yes, he can shoot, when his shoulders aren't shot....let me tell you, no one can shoot when their shoulders hurt....or ankles.....Jason Terry was a GREAT signing.......i love ray..but i love robert parrish too...and he ain't playin.....

I may be in the minority here but I truly believe that Ray will eventually regret this decision.  He is a sure-fire HOFer but he blew his chance of being a truly beloved/idolized player by any fan base.  His legacy in Boston will surely take a hit, I doubt he is going to be idolized by Sonic or Buck fans and it's unlikely he will be by Heat fans either.

Thanks Ray for everything.  Best of luck to you with your family and personal life, but I hope the Celtics kick your butt on the business side of things.
