Time to move on for both sides. I was not looking forward to Ray's annual April day-to-day ankle injury.

Won't miss us having to set screens to get him open or him refusing to pass the ball to Rondo in the open court once a game just to be passive-aggressive.

Will miss him when we're down by 6 with a minute or less to go.
Where they'll miss him the most is late in the 4th qtr of tight games when the other team has to foul.

Wont we have Terry for that?

I sincerely hope that he gets his numbered retired in BOS. He deserves that much.

disagree

I realize that we are all upset right now, but let's not forget that if it wasn't for Ray Allen KG wouldn't have come to BOS.

I know that Ray may not have had stellar playoff games in BOS for various reasons, but just his threat alone made us a better team during those times.

D:

This sucks.

Anyone saying that this team is better off without Ray, or that Jason Terry will be an upgrade, or that this doesn't make the Heat considerably stronger next year is kidding themselves.

This really, really sucks.

I don't know whose fault it was, but boning that trade for OJ Mayo is a real kick in the pants right now.

whoa! whoa! slow down there ole chap. You think Ray could create his own shot like terry? You think Ray could play better D than Terry? wow.........yes ray will make the cheat better, no doubt.....we will have to improvise, adapt and overcome.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

From the Herald:

Allen, tired of being offered as trade bait by Danny Ainge in each of the last two years, was also being offered trade security by the Celtics, either in the form of a trade kicker or a no trade clause.

But according to a league source, Allen’s request from the Celtics went beyond the pale - reportedly a demand for a three-year, $27 million contract. The Celtics, according to the source, were in the process of attempting to talk Allen down from $9 million to $6 million per year.

adios, ray. you turned down more money and a bigger role (wade plays your position) to go to your team's new enemy. i hope AB and rondo D you up, big-time. you could have had your jersey in the garden rafters. instead...expect a rain of boos. you didn't just leave...you betrayed us. make leaving us about getting more money. make it about getting more playing time. but this? no way, man, you will get no love in boston. nobody left like this.

Dang.  I'm upset about this Ray thing, but I just went over to Yahoo and there's a story about a four year old kid dying in a freak accident.  That's the type of stuff to be sad about, not sports.

Perspective, I guess.  Not trying to lecture anybody; that was just my reaction.

Dear Ray Allen,

I truly appreciate all you did in Boston.  However, I wish you nothing but aging legs, a flattening jumpshot and failure next to the Queen.

Sincerely,

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
It's not losing Ray that i'm really upset with. It's him joining Miami.

I get it, there's tension and he needs to move on. But Ray knows better. He knows the fanbase won't take this lightly. Unless he really doesnt care about the fans that supported him for 5 years. The Clippers are a much more viable option and gives him more money. He knows better to not join Miami.

Good F'n Riddance Ray. Hope Avery gives you a hell of a hard time when we see each other. I can't imagine Ray looking Paul and KG in the eye after this.

Woah. That would have been a lot of money down the drain.

Ray wanted 3 years 27 mill to stay a Celtic
