Ray has thumbed his nose at Celtic tradition.  Sure, he was almost traded, but he had the chance to say "I still love it here and playing for this franchise".  He decided he doesn't care.

I no longer care about him.  If he never plays another minute I'd be content.

Woj tweeted that Ray's relationship with Rondo and him being "almost traded" to memphis were the main reasons for his departure. He also mentioned something about Ray being "blown away" by pat Riley's presentation. I think it's more like Ray wants another ring and Miami is the best shot for that. He chided DWest for not taking less money to play for a contender. This is what Ray exactly did, at the expense of the team that gave him his first ring.

Time to move on for both sides. I was not looking forward to Ray's annual April day-to-day ankle injury.

Won't miss us having to set screens to get him open or him refusing to pass the ball to Rondo in the open court once a game just to be passive-aggressive.

Will miss him when we're down by 6 with a minute or less to go.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
D:

This sucks.

Anyone saying that this team is better off without Ray, or that Jason Terry will be an upgrade, or that this doesn't make the Heat considerably stronger next year is kidding themselves.

This really, really sucks.

I don't know whose fault it was, but boning that trade for OJ Mayo is a real kick in the pants right now.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

I sincerely hope that he gets his numbered retired in BOS. He deserves that much.

I hope he's all in.

The fact that he was "torn" means to me that I bet he still has some reservations.

He's made his choice, though.

I have a feeling he will regret it.

Fact is, I don't have any beef with him leaving the Celtics. My problem is he leaving for less money and for the Heat and with us getting nothing back.

DA did the right thing all along. He was right trying to trade him. Upside is we don't have to overpay him and commit $12M for him to be the second best SG on the bench.

I'm glad Ray was here to help win a chip. But I'm over it already.  Let Rondo and Bradley Grow, with Jet off the bench.  I was tired of watching the Celtics wait for Ray to run around while stalling the rest of the offense.

Ray Allen considered Pat Riley's presentation the past two days in Miami as "incredible," source says. "They sold him in every way."

this was done the minute game 7 was over....jackie mac was all over it and was 100 percent correct..

this doesn't catch the Cs by surprise..they knew he wasn't coming back...this is why the pounced on JET,,,this is why they are going to pay jeff green...bass

Ainge knew ray wasn't coming home....ever...now how does the roster end for the Cs?

agreed. Thank you DA for being pro-active and not sitting around and getting caught with your pants down. Now finish this roster off strong!!
