I think they've been in the league long enough to know its a business... still taking a paycut to play for the enemy... thats a slap to the face... so if he goes to Miami, who knows. Kg being a big loyalty guy will probably have a problem with it
You know what? I kinda think KG never learned that it's a business.

Are you kidding me?  KG was a big union guy, and was the tip of the spear with the huge contracts when he was younger.  He knows the business as well as anyone in the league.  He just was given a good offer by Danny, and felt comfortable with the situation to take it.

Ray on the other hand feels very uncomfortable in the situation, and for good reason, given the attempts to trade him, and the loss of his starting job.

He wanted out of minnesota. Didnt he? (rightfully so)

Ray never demanded a trade EVER, in his career.

Garnett and Paul have.
Considering just how terrible those past teams were can you blame them? I sure as heck don't.

My question is and i don't think anyone has brought this up yet..

How do you think all the Celtics players will feel when they have to come up with an entirely new playbook for Heat games if ray lands there?

Think about it. The guy must know every play every defensive set inbounds plays everything like the back of his hand.

If he does land in miami i expect all our plays to be tons more ineffective due to this fact. I can just see wade lbj and their guys cheating in the passing lanes...

What plays will he know... if he leaves our offense would totally change seeing as he is a HUGE part of it currently. Even if he does know most of our plays I doubt it even matters because this isn't the first time a player has changed teams, don't they all know the teams they leave plays?

Depending on the intelligence and basketball IQ of the particular player leaving yes and no. You can bet Ray knows all the plays like clockwork. A guy like Gerald Green probably not.. You get what im saying though. Not every guy on the team learns the playbook to a picture perfect extent. But a guy like Ray im willing to bet would know it better than anyone not named Rondo or Pierce. Sad to say but in this current generation of players to the most extent thats a lost art. Simply knowing the playbook is going to the wayside in favor of iso's. I wont rant about it but it's just what i see.

Like Ray had good teams? maybe 2 years on winning teams. I agree here. Im just adding a fact.

Oh yeah, well Ray Allen told me in 2006 that he wanted out of Seattle.

So KG is a guy that made a living chasing the money? Or earning it?

And actually I'm not sure this is exactly a business move for Ray either.

There's a huge huge difference between a guy saying "I want to be on a team committed to winning and I'll leave some money on the table and sacrifice some of my game to do it" and a guy who says "My contract is up and I want to go to a big market so I can get a better shoe contract".

One guy is acting like a competitor and the other is acting like a business man. A competitor can be in a union. It's ok.

Ray has all the justification......hes been dangled like a piece of meat

who are you to say that Ray Allen should do what you want him to do

So was Rondo, so was Kg and so was Peirce...You didn't see Peirce and Rondo sulk during the season, and at trade time, and KG came back.

At the time last this season the team was BAD, DA I think was in blow up and get young mode, some thing he wanted to do a couple years ago. Ray was playing the best. But they turned it around.

The thing with Rondo is the biggest thing. I can't blame Rondo for wanting some one to run with him. PP,KG,Bass are jump shooters now he needs a cutter to keep the D guessing. Now if you had a PF like Smith, Ray could start, two slashers, to jump shooters and a post up guy, but we don't have Smith, so thats out.

You can see how frustrated Rondo gets when the team jogs up the court, so he said some thing, were you going to bench PP ans start Peach's, or Kg and start Steamer? Ray was odd man out. Plus if gave the bench some scoring, and that was a good thing.

And for Ray to be mad at Rondo for not running plays for him, thats crap, if its going to take 10 seconds off the shot clock to get him open leaving only a few seconds left to get a shot off. Just bogs the offense down. Rondo's a smart guy, he could see this, maybe even saw it a year ago, but now he said some thing. Thats what leaders do, if you like it or not.

I think the way the team is shaping out Ray could start. play 5 min and then AB comes in, then Terry for Rondo or vice versa, depending on whats going on.

I want Ray to come back really bad with this team, he's one of my Fav all time players. But if he goes to Miami, I wont be mad...But I will be VERY disappointed in him....

Rondo cried when his friend Perkins was traded.

He made a huge deal out of it and had to be calmed down by Ainge and company.

Try again.

i noticed sumthin back in 08 it used to be all big 3 all da time. slowly ova da course of time KG & Pierce seem to have more of a best friend relationship nd Ray is slightly on da outside kinda like wat Wade & Bron do to Bosh

This kinda stuff from Celtic fans leaves me puzzled.

Its like Ray Allen is slowly becoming an outcast evil human.
iont have nuthin against Ray just an observation notice its always Pierce nd KG doin postgames together

right. we also don't run a ton of plays in general, either. doc is great at plays out of TOs, but in the course of a game, we only have a few sets.

Yeah...  KG is the all-time leader in earnings from NBA salary.  When you've made more money than any player, ever, it's probably safe to say that you've got the business side of things down.

I'm sure KG and Paul understand what Ray's doing, but I'm sure they're hoping he comes back, too.

Ray would probably automatically become the HEAT player they respect most.

But is he the all time leader in earnings from basketball/fame? Pretty sure that's MJ and then maybe Shaq. I gotta wonder who's number 3.
