I am positive if ray decides he wants out of boston we will do everything we can to make sure it's not Miami.  Miami can only offer three mil a year.  If we facilitate a deal, he can get anything.   So we tell ray if u wanna leave we will sign and trade you to Memphis or LAC or anywhere u want except Miami.   Is ray really going to turn down 6-7 mil a year to start with cp3 and griffin et al to get paid 3 mil a year to be sixth man for heat?  Can't see it.  I say it's 50/50 whether e comes back here but I am pretty optimistic he won't be in Miami next yr.

Not to mention rays worst possible scenario is going to miami and having the celtics prevent him from the tittle directly.  Better off going out west.  Less downside.

This is where the Celtics should use the Bill Belichick school of thought.  Better off to get rid of a guy a year to early then re-sign him and hold onto him too long.  I would not give him $12mil for 2 years.

First Nash and now Ray Allen...happy 4th of july  :-\

We need a starting SG, Terry isn't the answer as he's supposed to provide instant offense off the bench. I guess the cries for a Bass for Mayo S&T will be very loud around here...

What's the downside? He's one of the best prepared players in the NBA and hasn't shown any real age (bone spurs of course last year)

EDIT: For what its worth...RealGM has a bunch of Miami Fans already celebrating and asking if Ray is going to keep #20 or if he'll go back to #34

Yep, that would be his worst nightmare, and it's a real possibility.

Downside:

1 - Takes playing time away from AB

2 - Defensive Liability

3 - One dimensional player

I swear Celtic fans have a hard time of letting go.

1 - Bradley hasn't shown a consistent outside shot

2 - Ray isn't there to play amazing defense, hes there to hit the clutch 3 and be money from the FT Line

3 - But hes a HOF one dimensional player...

Who is going to start while Bradley is recovering from surgery on BOTH SHOULDERS!!

Bradley is there for D and he gets his points by cutting to the hoop.  Let him play so he can develop a consistent outside shot.  He's a HOF doesnt mean you sign him till his ankles turn to dust.  BONE SPURS RETURN!  TRUST ME.   Terry is a very cluth player himself.  If Ray wont come off the bench let him go!

This is what DA gets for having Ray up on the trading block for the last three years.

KG ad PP and Rondo were on the block too.  Whats your point?  DA is just doing his job.  If Ray thinks he is an untouchable then he has an inflated value of himself.  He's  37 year old one dimension player coming off surgery.  He ought to be thrill DA offered him $12M for 2 years.  I would not offer him that.

Then Ray needs to grow up and be a professional.

So you want him on a team that bounced us from the playoffs for the past two years? That is insanity and foolishness. If Ray is playing against us, we will be lost everytime he takes a 3 point shot.

This with Rondo , who cried when Perkins was let go lol

what do you know about professional. Ray is as professional as they come.

Who needs you to tell Ray Allen what he needs to do?
