Houston has a gigantic Chinese population, it makes sense from a marketing standpoint.

What exactly is Houston thinking? Does that mean they are willing to let Dragic go to PHX? Paying role players like Asik and Lin 8M per, without having a core players as a foundation is not a great move.

Their roster is a mess ATM. Dragic is RFA, Lowry wants out, Martin is in his last year, they have 7 PFs... it's going to be a long summer for Morey.

yeah. those are two dreadful looking contract offers. especially with dragic playing so well and letting him walk, and also lowry on the roster. does make sense about the chinese population.

Quite the payday for Lin. 

Houston runs a PG friendly system though - Brooks, Lowry, Dragic have all put up big numbers there.  Perhaps similar to the D'Antoni effect that worked so well for Lin this year.

That's exactly it, this is a great move for them financially, he will bring so exponentially more profit than what they will be paying him. He will also be an all-star starter for the next decade from the chinese fan base voting.
