I think the best thing to do is try to S&T Bass for a serviceable/decent/good big, and try to bring back Wilcox and Steamer to round up the reserve role.

If the plan is to bring back Green, I think he'll need to get some minutes at the 4, and to some extent Bass's current role will not be needed as much, particularly if you plan on having KG play the majority of the minutes at the 4.
This.  Bass was a good player for us, but he was inconsistent and could not run like Green.  Better to use the slot on a legit 7-footer.

Robin Lopez anyone? He's not a starter, but he's serviceable, provides enerygy, and is better than Hollins at the very least. He's also a legit 7 footer who's still young and fairly athletic. I wouldn't mind having Stiemsma, Lopez and Melo.

The Suns have kept things interesting, agreeing on a max contract offer sheet with Eric Gordon and reaching a three-year, $18 million agreement with Michael Beasley. They also appear to have obtained a free-agent point guard, former Sun Goran Dragic, with four years and $34 million.

The Suns can't do all three of these things simultaneously without both amnestying Josh Childress and renouncing the rights to free agents Robin Lopez, Shannon Brown, Aaron Brooks and Grant Hill. It doesn't necessarily mean all these things will ultimately happen, though, as Phoenix can time the events sequentially so that Beasley and Dragic don't sign until after the Hornets make a decision on matching Gordon.

Nice find. I was wondering how the Suns could afford to make all these offers.

Sounds like the Hornets may match on Gordon, despite his wishes. So it could be moot.

Would LOVE to have Robin Lopez. Sign Shannon Brown while we're at it as well. Brings defensive energy and youth, who can start at center for us. I really hope we can get him.

How could we afford Lopez?  He made $2.8M last year.  He is not going to accept the BAE.  It would have to be a S+T, and we are going to pay him Bass money.  Maybe a three-teamer if Stiemer goes to Minny?

choose one --> based on what?  who I'd want or who I think is the best reasonable option or who I think we'll actually sign?

Want: D Howard but that's not happening and he's not a FA.
Likely beset reasonable option: Camby but he's probably not coming here.
Who I think we'll sign:  well, I think we'll sign 2 -- Wilcox and Steimsma.

A S&T of Bass for a better big always seemed to me like a bit of a ridiculous idea.  Sure, the other GM could be an idiot or you could have a situation where a guy with an expiring contract is likely to leave next season, but otherwise, why wouldn't the other team just keep the taller and/or better rebounding big man?  The Celtics would either have to accept the inferior player or throw in some added value to do a trade.

Wilcox is nice player off the bench and cheap.

Rather have Wilcox , but take Steamer back CHEAP.  NO!! NO NADS...he SUCKS .... HE IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo lame and the WORST defender ever ....I'd almost rather have Hollins , at least he an't a sissy.

Maybe S. Williams willpan out this summer , he has ability and skill ....just no drive to win or give a dang about the game .
Yes. Wilcox is the guy. It's a longshot for S Will to make the team but his upside is still huge.  I would take Steamer over Kritcis every day and twice on Sunday.

I agree the sign and trade stuff was wild as I could not fathom a team wanting to sign  Bass or trade for big bucks.   Bass is not perfect but he is servicable and a upgrade over Baby.   I think we should go for Wilcox and Sign Green and Allen.

This seems like the likely scenario now.  Ainge is bringing players back, but he is also tweaking the talent a bit at each position of the bench.  Bass, Green, Terry, Wilcox is as solid a bench as there will be in the NBA next season.

I'd like to see Ivan Johnson, the guy is relentless, kinda reminds me of KG.
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

Nazr Mohammed appears to be available now that the Thunder are apparently signing Thabeet.  On the other hand, he is old and a team out there decided that Hasheem Thabeet was preferable.

Despite his age, Mohammed is an energy big who can rebound and who was professional enough to say that his playing time should be going towards developing Cole Aldrich.

I think Wilcox is back and Stiemsma is gone. Anything over the QO is a deal breaker. Id like to see in order

1. Marcus Camby
2. Kurt Thomas
3. Nazir Mohammed
4. Ivan Johnson

Mohammed and Johnson are the most realistic and I think Mohammed is the most obtainabl.
