Quote
Brandon Bass: Agent Tony Dutt talked to Celtics in the midst of a busy day. Dutt said six other teams also called, meaning that Bass’ price is on a sharp climb. It may ultimately be more than the Celtics want to pay, considering the number of players they have to cram into a $20 million hole. If they have to let a player go, perhaps via a sign-and-trade deal, Bass could be that guy.

“We had a great conversation and we’ll continue to talk,” said Dutt. “Everything was very positive. We understand that they care about him, but we have to look at all of our options. It’s our job to look at everything and make good decisions.”

I think someone is going to give Bass 7 or 8 mil and at that price I wouldn't match unless he would take a 2 year deal.

We have Sullinger, if Bass walks we could sign Rashard Lewis on a cheap deal or Antwan Jamison ,Anthony Randolph

Might consider looking into Beasley as well depending on how much he wants.

If Bass takes a 3 yr 6 mil per I would do it , but nothing over that.

Yeah 6 or 7 is the most. I would do.

Ray at 6 with Green and Bass at 14 total should still keep us under the apron.

That'd be crazy.

Imagine a sign and traded Bass + Sullinger + future first for Smith.

No where at all in the article does it say Bass has offers from 6 other teams.  It just says his agent fielded calls from 6 other teams.  There is a very big difference between fielding a call and getting an offer.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Yep.

For all we know, those six teams all called to get an idea of what Boston might pay to bring Bass back.

Probably just feeling out what he thinks his price tag will be.

I'd love it if the C's did a sign-and-trade with New Orleans, sending Bass out for Chris Kaman.  Seems like a nice trade.

PF: Garnett/JJJ/Sullinger
C: Kaman/Stiemsma/Mello

Bass and KG like to do the same thing: shoot from the elbows.  Kaman seems like a better complement to KG.  Otherwise, KG plays center again with Bass at PF.

I'm hoping we can lure Bass (hehe) on a fat one year deal, while getting Jeff Green on a longer-term slimmer annual deal.

I just don't want to pay Bass long-term when we have two guys with similar skills  in Sully and JJJ on board for the rookie-scale for 3-4 years (and in Sully's case, a higher ceiling as a starting PF).

I want him for one year to allow us to bring along the young guys in bench roles and then replace him cost-effectively the following year.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Really think it would take Sullinger? Plus doesn't Sullinger, Horford, and Bass have a lot of redundancy?

Kaman loves to shoot jumpers too, he's just worse at it than Bass.

yea I would think they have more interest in Melo and Bradley(especially if Johnson is traded)

It probably takes Bradley, Bass and Melo at the least to have a shot at Josh Smith

Yeah but he does have a back to the basket game.
