I think you are reading to much from Doc's words.

Rivers said he can envision the team signing both

It's the right thing to say. That way, you keep all of the options open. It's not like he is going to say: 'We are talking to Terry because we think Ray will leave, but if Ray stays we don't need Terry'.

I doubt they will sign both of them.

Btw, those trades ideas involving Bradley are ridiculous. You don't trade your 21y old starting SG for a chance to strengthen your bench.

Completely agree. Which isn't to say that they won't sign another SG if they re-sign Ray, but it would be a cheap, low cost SG (or someone who can play backup SG and PG) to hold down the fort while AB and RA recover from surgery.
Celtics fan for life.

Millsap is not an upgrade from Bass, and that package can't bring you Smith back. Terry is a ball dominant player who is best as a scorer of the bench, like in Dallas.

So basically, you are trading Bradley for your sixth man - Terry. Ok  ::)

Millsap isn't an upgrade over Bass?  I don't even know what to say to that .... 16.6 ppg,9rpg,50% shooting in the same mins as Bass. He can shoot from anywhere on the floor and has more range than Bass and can create his own shot and doesn't just rely on jump shots. He would be a 18-20 ppg scorer as a starter with Rondo

Why is our All Defensive Team 21 year old starting shooting guard being dragged through the mud in this thread?

how is he being dragged through the mud? this is all dependent on signing both Ray and Terry. If they sign both there will be a log jam at the sg,backup pg position.

If you can trade AB and Bass to upgrade the big man position and get a better rebounder and scorer that's dragging Bradley though the mud?

Jason Terry would look good in Miami. Starting PG. 35 minutes a night.

Miami should be going after Terry hard. With everything they've got.
Yep, those idiots want Ray instead though.

I think they have interest in Terry, but he won't sign for 3M a year. Ray might.

So would Terry be the C's veteran upgrade over Dooling?  They may figure that with Bradley, Moore and Terry they have enough backup options for Rondo, as well as, with Ray, backing up the 2 and indulging Doc's small ball.
I'm sorry, but Moore should be happy if he's in the game day lineup. Just putting things in perspective.

Watch some Ohio State games on Espn3. I know Sullinger wasn't on our radar because he was projected as a mid-lottery pick, but we scored a major coup with a kid who should be every bit the player that Milsap is, for much cheaper. And he'll be a much better value than Josh Smith.

Avery Bradley did everything he possibly could do to impress you last year, including playing extended minutes with two gimpy arms.
He's better than Ray Allen right now, and only getting better. He's better than Terry right now, and only getting better, and he's very cheap at that salary.

Rondo/Bradley as a defensive duo was a total revelation of historic proportions, and will only improve.

Don't act all shocked when he goes off for 30+ points just about whenever the team needs him to do so.

And don't act all shocked when Sullinger steps right in from day one and becomes comparable to Milsap by the end of the regular season.

And when Melo shows he is every bit Perk's equal or superior by the end of the regular season.

Higher ceiling than Milsap but I agree with you on Sullinger, hes going to play a good amount this year.

Maybe, but the Heat have a lot of interest in Terry too. Ray's got better numbers and is a better fit for MIA as a 3-point shooter and a guy who spreads the floor than Terry. Terry's going to be 35 when the 2012-13 season starts so he seems destined for much the same type of money Ray gets from a contender unless Terry is willing to go somewhere like PHX and pretend to compete.

He's as NBA ready as anybody else in that draft, even if he is only projected to become a "boring" 20/10 guy for a decade.

That's what happens when you go back to school, you get over-analyzed and picked apart.

He would have easily been worth both the 21st and 22nd pick in a trade up. Melo, a poor man's Tyson Chandler, was just a bonus.

People are going to be shocked when Sullinger starts the season as a major factor, just like they were shocked when Avery Bradley, former top ranked prospect, started playing like it.

I swear, some people would have been happier with a Jeff Taylor/Doron Lamb draft, just because they studied them more in the pre-draft process.

OK so where are te minutes for ABradley?

Plese DA, don't give Doc too many options!!!!  We are going to get smoked if we keep playing older guys off the bench.  We need ENERGY!!!

I think Bradley has proven himself to Doc already so even if we sign both Allen and Terry, Bradley will still play. Though I think we still need a pg, and bigs. Terry isn't a real point guard, but can play both positions. Therefore, I think if we sign both Terry will play more point guard than the shooting guard. And Ray Allen primarily a shooting guard with Bradley.
