We want to get the band back together and add to it," Rivers told Yahoo! Sports by phone. "We have a great locker room with no issues. Guys want to be back and want to be a part of this."

Allen has drawn interest from several teams, including the Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks, and plans to take his time in making a decision. Rivers thinks Garnett's return helps the Celtics' chances of re-signing Allen.

Rivers thinks the Celtics will be the last team to get to talk to Allen before he makes his decision.
"We called him," Rivers said. "He lives in Boston and loves it in Boston. Ray will look around, but we will be there at the end. I'm hopeful he will re-sign."

On Terry:

Celtics president Danny Ainge spoke to Terry on Sunday. Terry also is receiving interest from the Memphis Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Clippers, Suns and Mavericks.

The Celtics have tried to solidify the shooting guard position by pursuing Dallas Mavericks free agent Jason Terry in addition to Allen, and Rivers said he can envision the team signing both.

"We've given our pitch," Rivers said. "We're definitely in the picture and we have a lot of interest."

Wow that would be tremendous if we could somehow pull that off

Isn't Dallas interested in Bass? maybe there is a s+t possibility there?

or do we just use the MLE on Terry after we sign Ray ?

we still need a big man....Kristic?

Also could signing Terry mean we might be packaging Bradley with Bass for JSmith or Millsap ? I don't see how Terry gets any time with Rondo,Bradley and Ray if we don't move Bradley....

i'm thinking they might package bradley and Bass and try to land a big man like Millsap or Josh Smith

Jason Terry came into this league as a point, if he signs in addition to Allen it means Dooling's gone.  I can live with that.

The article says Bradley may be out until December. We need all the depth we can get at SG then. Terry can also play backup pg.

Sounds pretty awesome to me. Give him all of Dooling's/Peaches' minutes.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

So would Terry be the C's veteran upgrade over Dooling?  They may figure that with Bradley, Moore and Terry they have enough backup options for Rondo, as well as, with Ray, backing up the 2 and indulging Doc's small ball.

Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing, then I just deleted it from my last post.

It is sounding more and more like AB might be playing significant minutes backing up Rondo at the PG.  Etwaun Moore with a sadface.

Jason Terry would look good in Miami. Starting PG. 35 minutes a night.

Miami should be going after Terry hard. With everything they've got.

Jason Terry would be terrific for the LA Lakers as a 35 minute a night starting PG / combo guard.

Terry is an excellent fit alongside the two low post scorers (A.Bynum, P.Gasol) and a ball-dominant wing. An elite shooter and skilled scorer who is comfortable off the ball. He'll provide the spacing they all need + time on the ball they require.

Bring Ramon Sessions off the bench and play a three guard backcourt rotation with Terry and Kobe. A two man SF rotation with Artest/Barnes/Ebanks. The two centers and some backup big men. That would be a potent team.

I think Jason Terry would be making a mistake to come to Boston. He could get a much larger role elsewhere (such as LA and Miami).

Allen battled ankle issues last season and was replaced in the starting lineup by Avery Bradley until a shoulder injury sidelined Bradley in the playoffs. Bradley had surgery, but might not be back until December, Rivers said.

say we sign both Ray and Terry

so how about a trade of

Bos sends: Bradley,Bass and Melo
Atl sends: Smith

or same package for Millsap

PG: Rondo             / Terry
SG: Ray               / Terry
SF: PP                / Green
PF: Smith or Millsap  / Sullinger
C: KG                / Kristic? Camby? Steamer?
