You could tell he was coming back in Feb/Mar, when he got into shape and picked up his game. Nobody that plays that well retires.

But we cant talk contracts until tomorrow. Not that I expect Kg going anywhere else, but until his name is on the dotted line, I don't believe it.

Never mind. I guess we CAN negotiate with KG before tomorrow.

I'm not surprised, never expected him to retire.

Now for his contract, I expect Ainge to offer a similar contract that Pierce has, 1 year with another one partially guaranteed or giving KG a player option.

Next summer Howard and Smith are unrestricted, while James Harden is restricted FA.

This is excellent news :D
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
VERY VERY happy to hear this. It's what we all expected, but there was always 'that' chance.  :D

3 years, $34 million apparently.  Pretty steep tag but it's worth it in my eyes.

Best news of the offseason!! 3 years, 34 million. Well deserved KG.

Now, for the experts out here, what do we have left in cap space to use on FA's?

I expect Jeff Green to be next.

Yeah, that's a higher number than I expected/was hoping for. I think the main question is how much of that is for the next two years and how much is on the 3rd. I don't want to be paying Garnett over $10 million in that final year.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

  • The shortest answer is doing the thing
How is that steep? Was I watching a different guy all season?

Obviously there's potential for quick and steep decline but until that happens, this is a sweetheart deal.

Not bad if it's true.  I was hoping for 3 years, $32 (with this year's salary being for $10 mil), but this is in the ballpark.  I didn't think he'd go for under 8 figures.
