Rondo2287,

Zeller does not have 1/2 the motor that AV plays with.  I would say maybe a 1/4.

P.S. I live in NC and my daughter is a jr. at UNC.

Didn't Zeller barely rep 225 in Chicago??????  He looks like he NEVER visited the weight room in Chapel Hill!!!!

I stand embarrassedly corrected.  Tyler benched 225 16 freaking times.  Well done.

He really did play like a sissy IMHO.  I would have NEVER guessed he could have done that well.

Humbled,

If you don't want a Jeff Foster + PJ Stock on your team than your crazy.

Thank you.
I don't understand why "being like Jeff Foster" is a diss. If the Cs leave the draft with someone who can provide what Jeff Foster provides, but at about half the cost, hooray! It is something the Cs sorely need.
Celtics fan for life.

Yup looks like Zellar has a great BBIQ. Just watch this play where he doesn't even get a hand up and gives Austin Rivers a wide open look with the clock running out . How do you not know a shot is coming from Austin Rivers with like 2 seconds left ?

He is so soft and scrawny . There is no way I want him even if he drops to us. At best he is a backup weak defending Center maybe a Nenad Kristic type offensive center( after the knee surgeries)

He played very physical, especially when he felt he had a matchup advantage, constantly worked to pin his man down in good post position calling for the ball.

Milwaukee and Terrence Jones seem like a good fit. Especially if Ilyasova leaves.

I think he'd be a nice fit alongside Dalembert, Monta and Jennings. Nice glue guy.

I am sacred off of Tyler Zeller. Heard he struggled mightily against NBA quality big men in summer workouts at UNC. Brendan Haywood destroyed him.

Zeller just didn't have the bulk or the length to defend Haywood effectively. Nor did he have enough size or skill to score around the rim or create his own shot against Hawyood's length.

I don't see Zeller as much more than a 4th big in an NBA rotation.

I completely disagree.

I think Zeller is one of the best players in this draft. I have him at #3 in my big board, after Davis and Lillard.

He'll be a key player for some team for many years. Not a superstar, but a Marc Gasol level of player. Reminds me of Jack Sikma.

As of now he needs to work on his core strength area and legs, but he still gives effort and forces people to shoot over him. I think he'll need to play the 4 for his first years in the league - or as a 4/5 combo.

Post defense is arguably his biggest weakness though. That and the inability to pass off doubles - but that won't be much of a problem in the NBA as he'll never be the type of low-post player that gets doubled often.

Zeller would be a terrific pick for the Celtics. I really like his mobility, his end-to-end speed - he'd be fantastic to run the floor with Rondo, his high motor and his screening abilities - and I suspect he'll be a terrific pick'n'pop player, although his college team didn't run that play.

It's flat out crazy that a perennial backup PF like Sullinger or a lazy stiff like Meyers Leonard can go ahead of Zeller.

Wow! that is [dang]ing evidence! How could anyone draft a guy after seeing that clip!  He SUCKS!!!

Was there any other pays in that game, or just that one? I assume there were lots and lots because the score was 85-84.  Unless he went for like 25 and 12 there is NO WAY to draft that BUM after seeing that play!!

hAH!! See!! Only 23 and 11 against a top ten team!! Oh the humanity!!!

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'd be very ecstatic if Zeller falls to us.

This guy will play defense, will rebound and be physical. The dude will play his role perfect and he'll fit perfect for this team.
