In a draft this deep, you'd be crazy if you didn't want to move up. That's certainly Danny Ainge's logic, as the President of Basketball Operations of the Boston Celtics told reporters on Wednesday that he is certainly interested in moving up in this Thursday's draft if the price is right. Boston currently has the No. 21 and No. 22 overall picks inthe first round.

Ainge: "I've said from the beginning this is a deep draft...I think it is worth trading up but it all depends on the price."

Ainge also said that the Celtics have their prospect list in order (they better by now, right?), and that the team has not made any promises to anyone, contrary to reports that they had promised Royce White that they would draft him if he fell to Boston at the end of the first round.

Danny has made promises before hasn't he?

I am really hoping they move up for 1 good prospect . The talent level starts to drop after # 20 IMO and there is no way Doc is going to play 2 limited rookies, so you should try and trade up for one good one .

Guys I would trade up for

Leonard
White
PJ3
Terrence Ross
Moultrie
Sullinger (possibly)

I hope Ainge hasn't made a draft promise since Orien Greene. That better have been a learning experience for him.

I don't think Ainge has ever made a promise.  I think he knows the media game well and plays it to his ability.  He's been there as a player, been there as a coach, and has experience with them as a GM.  He knows the media game and plays it well.

I think he darn well knows who he wants, where that player might fall, and what it takes to get him if he really has his heart set on that player.  Royce White ought to thank him, I think Ainge has helped his stock soar here recently.  Ainge is eyeing someone, and just playing coy for now.

I'm right there with ya.  Especially in a deep draft.

IMO, I think Ainge put a smokescreen out there with the Royce White promise, Jared Sullinger stuff, etc.

I think he has his eyes on Perry Jones III falling.   He'll either fall to us or Ainge will have to trade up to get Jones.  If I'm guessing, Jones is Ainges man.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
The guy I'd like to see in green (other than Royce) is Tyler Zeller. Good size, shows promising jumper, can run the floor. Not a super star by any means, but solid starter material.
